Hi,
Can you please help me to update Enfold via ftp. You’ve helped me with this before.
Unfortunately, I have had to restore an old backup with an older version of Enfold.
My attempts to update via ftp fail. I really don’t know what I do differently than you do.Best regards,
Brigitte VosMarch 3, 2019 at 1:07 am #1073795Hey 3Vosjes,
Sorry for the late reply, and thank you for the FTP access, I tried to update your site twice but it crashed, I was able to recover but I don’t see why it would crash.
I had got a 500 server error, please ask your webhost if they can see in the server log at about the time of this post, what happened.
If you want to let your webhost see the error then have them use the FTP access, and renamed your current theme from “enfold” to “enfold-old” then rename “enfold-new” to “enfold” then refresh your web page.To roll-back to the old version, simply rename the new “enfold” to “enfold-new” via ftp and then rename “enfold-old” to “enfold” then refresh your page.
If they can’t figure out the error, then ask to change your PHP to v7 (your using v7.2 now) and disable all plugins, then I would try again.
Best regards,

Thanks for your reply.I have had contact with the textconsultants webhost. This is what they sent me.
It doesn’t make sense to me. Does it make sense to you and can you help me with this?
I have deactivated the plugin WP Security and set PHP to v7.Error message:

Brigitte VosMarch 6, 2019 at 5:07 am #1075250Hi,
The error messages look like my file upload missed some files, odd that I didn’t see those errors. I re-upped and your update seems to be working now.
Please check your site and clear your server & browser cache.Once you are happy you, (or I) can delete the “enfold-old” via ftp, (not the WP theme page)
Should for some reason you wish to roll-back to the old version, it’s easy to do, simply rename the new “enfold” to “enfold-new” via ftp and then rename “enfold-old” to “enfold” then refresh your page.Best regards,
MikeMarch 7, 2019 at 10:53 am #1075906Hi Mike,
Everything looks great. Thank you for that. I’m happy!
I’m not sure I understand what you mean by (not the WP-theme page). So, if you can delete ‘enfold-old’ for me, I will be very grateful.
Many thanks for your help.Best regards,
