    hi,
    on behalf of a client I am asked to update the enfold theme, which was installed by a previous webmaster (which I took over) using his Api Key; I saw in your documentation that to update the theme it is necessary to authenticate with the account used when the theme was purchased, but my client no longer has any relationship with the previous webmaster; how can we do to update the theme then?
    can I buy a new subscription and use my Api Key to update the theme in the WordPress backend, or it won’t work?
    thanks
    regards

    Hi Giovanni,

    If you can’t get the necessary information, then I think your best option would be to simply purchase the theme again. After you have done so, then please follow this in order to register your license: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/. You should be able to use the new token with your existing site.

    Best regards,

    Hi Rickard,
    Thank you for your answer; I will try following your advice,
    I still have a doubt: in order not to cause problems to the site in production (eg: myofficialdomain.org), I would like to try updating the template on a test subdomain (eg: test.myofficialdomain.org ), is it possible to use the token also on the test subdomain?
    thanks
    Best regards;
    Giovanni

    Hi Giovanni,

    Thanks for the update. I don’t think you should have any problems if you add the token to the test site first, then remove it and add it to the production site after that.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
