    I use WordPress Version 4.2.22, PHP-Version 7.2.
I downloaded the “Installable WordPress file only” and unzipped it. Via FTP Filezilla I re-named the actual enfold-folder, uploaded the new enfold-folder to “wp-content/themes” and deleted then the old folder.

Unfortunately my website nor my WordPress-Login was not working afterwards. Instead the following notice showed up on a blank page:
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function apply_filters_deprecated() in /WWWROOT/249036/htdocs/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-framework-widgets.php on line 2572”

I re-uploaded the old enfold-version and deleted the new one and luckily my website is working fine again. But still I want to upload the actual version of Enfold.
What went wrong and what will solve the problem?

    Thanks for helping!

    Hey Tanguera108,
I believe that this is due to your older WordPress core, try to update to version 5.0.2 first, then update Enfold to v4.5.2
If you still experience problems Please include a admin login & FTP access in the Private Content area so we can be of more assistance.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hello Mike,
thanks for your quick answer and I see that the old version of WordPress might be the reason for the problem.

What’s the easiest and safest way to update to WordPress 5.0.2? Should I use the Update-Button in the WordPress-Dashboard? Will that work without problems? Or what should I do otherwise?

    Best regards
    Frauke

    Hi,
You should be able to update WordPress via the dashboard without any issues.

    Hi Mike,
thanks for your help! Today finally I could take some time to to the updates.

I followed your advice to do first the WordPress update (which worked fine via Dashborad, no problems at all)
    and to update Enfold afterwards.

All worked fine, the website is showing up as it should be and everything ist okay!

    Best regards,
    Frauke
