What is the Enfold theme update download link that includes instructions for smoothest transition? (For a version 1.5.1 update to the most current.)
March 7, 2014 at 3:16 am #233493Hey m!
Please see “update via FTP” video here – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Cheers!
YigitMarch 8, 2014 at 4:32 am #234084Thanks, I just tried the ftp process and it failed. It crashed the entire website. Even within the control panel, some admin pages would not load but instead returned a white screen with this error (where ..site.. is the username):
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting ‘]’ in /home/..site../public_html/wp-content/themese/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/contentslider.php on line 394.
Please provide me with specific instructions to update smoothly from version 1.5.1.

Thank you for using the theme. I hope you’re doing great.
I’m sorry but you waited too long to update the theme. A lot of avia elements has been changed and you might have to recreate them from scratch especially those that are using the font icons. The “You might also like” section shows the related posts. You can remove that using this on Quick CSS:
.related_posts { display: none; }

IsmaelMarch 9, 2014 at 5:36 pm #234395Thank you item 2 is resolved.
Please clarify the solution to item 1.
What are the steps to update the theme? Are you saying that it is not at all possible?? It’s only been about 9 months since it was built.
March 9, 2014 at 5:37 pm #234396…Regarding item 1, is it a matter of choosing a font or image somewhere in the control panel?
March 9, 2014 at 6:04 pm #234401Hi!
Pleas see – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/change-icon-used-for-standard-theme-elements/
I see pencil icon just fine please see screenshot here http://i.imgur.com/40CG3Tp.jpgBest regards,
YigitMarch 15, 2014 at 2:28 am #237885I’ve set up MAMP for testing and safety completing this upgrade, as you mentioned that I will have to rebuild much of it. When I preview alternate themes, they all work except for Enfold 2.5.4. The preview is just a white browser window. Resultantly, I’m hesitant to activate it. Please advise.
March 15, 2014 at 3:02 am #237891Hey!
The icon shows up when you don’t have a featured image on that post. You can also change the blog layout to one of the alternate styles if you don’t like that layout (in theme options>general settings).
At this point updating you would need to re-upload the whole theme and overwrite everything that was there before. This will bring you up to date with the most recent WordPress changes and add in all of the new features that have come out over the past few months.
The current theme version is 2.6.1 which came out this past week. With the number of changes that have come out in the past (almost) year now you will likely need to re-do some content areas to work with the new features. Cheers!
DevinMarch 18, 2014 at 7:19 pm #239562Thanks, the theme has now been updated on the live site. The pencil icons are still a problem as they list a bunch of html code on mouseover. The site has many posts already archived, and it’s not feasible to manually add feature images to each – besides it’s redundant to have two copies of the same photo side by side there. We want the single author blog style. What are the alternatives? Can the pencil icon be removed? Can the html code that displays on mouseover be removed?
March 19, 2014 at 7:10 pm #240265Hey!
Can you post the link to your page where pencil icon is problematic? I could not find on the website you have posted earlier
Cheers!

Please add following code to Quick CSS
.small-preview { pointer-events: none; }
Best regards,
YigitMarch 19, 2014 at 8:20 pm #240333Thank you, that seems to successfully hide the html code on mouseover!
