The site that I manage, isn’t visible at all after the update. I don’t have any plugins on and I didn’t get any error message after the update.

I was asked to start a new thread. See previous messages below. Admin login details are in private content box but I don’t have FTP details for this page.

    Previous messages in another thread:
Yes, the same thing happened to me too. I get error message:
“Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in ../themes/enfold/header.php on line 6”

Hopefully this will get fixed soon! I don’t have a backup so I’m screwed now.

    Hi @joannapurosto,

Please open a new thread and include WordPress admin login and FTP details to your site in private so that we can have a closer look.

    Best regards,

    Hey,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please upgrade PHP version to minimum 5.6 or replace /wp-content/themes/enfold/header.php file with this one – https://www.dropbox.com/s/r389b5x4ippscyn/header.php?dl=0 to bring up backwards compatibility with older PHP versions. Please also see – https://kinsta.com/blog/php-7-hhvm-benchmarks/

    Cheers!

    Hi joannapurosto,

Can you give us ftp access? so we can check further.

    @ak-muc
: can you create a new thread? and give us temporary admin and ftp access and post it in private content, so it is only visible to the moderators and the thread creator.

    Best regards,

    Hi Enfold Support,
What’s the status with this problem with the 4.2.6 update? Thankfully we have a staging site where we test all plugin, theme and wordpress core updates on and during the 4.2.6 update, saw the entire site go down–even with all the plugins deactivated. We then reverted back to enfold 4.2.5 and all was back to normal. Is it directly related to php version or something else?
    Thanks!

    Hi Eric,

Can you please check server log for error? Also, you can try again, but delete the Enfold folder and upload a fresh copy. Some files have moved and the sometimes they cannot be deleted.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi Victoria,
Will check error logs. We use a child theme. Will your proposed fix work with a child theme set up? Thanks!
    Eric

    Hi,

Check with the Child Theme and let us know the issues and we will do our best to assist you.

    Best regards,
    Basilis
