    Hello,
I have been experiencing recurring issues for quite some time with saving changes on existing pages. The changes are not applied after saving.
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
    – Tested in different browsers
    – Saved the page as a draft
    – Disabled all plugins
    – Tried saving the content as a template and inserting it into a test page (the template is not saved either)
The WordPress installation as well as the theme are fully up to date.
Due to the frequency of this issue and its impact on productive work, this matter is becoming increasingly urgent. I therefore need not only a fix for the root cause, but also a reliable workaround, as the problem keeps occurring.

Thank you in advance for your support and assistance.

    Best regards, Kornelia

    Hey Edeenreich,

Thanks for the login details. How can we reproduce the problem that you are having?

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,
You can reproduce the issue by making any change on the homepage (start page) and trying to save or update it. The changes will not be applied after saving.
    Let me know, ifit works!

    Hi,

Thanks for that. There is something in your content which is breaking the layout builder, but I’m not sure exactly what it is. I created a test page and tried to copy your content over, but it won’t save anything which comes after your 1/3 elements. Please try to recreate your content on the page in private, and don’t use any special characters or emojis for now.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
I was able to publish my changes using the following workaround:
    – I set the page to private and added my changes.
    – Then I switched to the default (standard) editor and published the page. All changes were applied correctly.
    – After that, I set the page back to public.
However, I still need a proper fix for this issue, as I am not the only person working on this website and this workaround is not suitable for regular use. I hope this helps you narrow down and identify the cause of the issue.

    Hi,

There is something in the content below the 1/3 elements which is breaking the layout builder. Please try to add the content back but without any special characters or emojis to see what happens then.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

First of all, I apologize for the late reply.
That worked. However, I am certain that the icons did not cause the original issue. I only added this text recently, but making changes to the homepage has been problematic for several months now.
As you can see in the pages trash, I have already rebuilt the affected page completely twice.
Do you have any idea what else could be causing this issue?

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. What exactly worked for you, and are you still having problems?

    Best regards,
    Rikard
