Hi. I am unable to locate a product code for our Enfold theme in order to register for the forum because our site (vibranth2o.com) was developed by an individual who has since passed away. We are experiencing image issues that may be related to a Woo Commerce plug-in update and I need forum access to attempt to resolve the issue.
April 19, 2017 at 5:30 am #779770Hey Ryan Kuypers,
You are using a very old version of the theme, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.0.5) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/. Make sure to make backups of your current site if something should go wrong during the update.
Best regards,
RikardApril 19, 2017 at 7:59 pm #780117Ryan KuypersGuestI am willing to update to the latest version, but am unable because I don’t have the login information for Themeforest. I mentioned in my original message, the person who build the site passed away in 2013. It seems that I will need to work with Themeforest to gain access/control of the account that started the vibranth2o site or figure out how they can associate the site to a new account.
April 19, 2017 at 8:57 pm #780140Hey!
You will not manage to
The easiest solution is to buy a new license, so you can get things shorted out.
Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. Thanks a lot
Cheers!
BasilisApril 20, 2017 at 8:13 pm #780738Ryan KuypersGuestSince we are running such an old version and the only recommendation to update is to buy a new license for $60? Will updating erase the changes/customization we’ve done with the theme?
Many images are not populating any longer – do you believe this is because our version is so outdated? We do not have the option to update within the WordPress panel and like I said no access to themeforest account because the person who set it up for us passed away….
April 20, 2017 at 8:24 pm #780740Hi,
Since we are running such an old version and the only recommendation to update is to buy a new license for $60? Yes.
If the customization is done on the Enfold theme (parent), yes it would be lost since all files within the parent theme will be overwritten during the update, if you are using a child theme, then customization on files will be retained. Any customization on Theme Options will not be lost whether you use a child theme or not.
Many images are not populating any longer – do you believe this is because our version is so outdated? Yes, that would most likely be the case since the outdated version of Enfold doesn’t work with the latest version of WordPress, so Enfold should be updated to the latest version to make sure it works properly with the current version of WordPress.
Best regards,
NikkoApril 20, 2017 at 9:25 pm #780788Ryan KuypersGuestThank you Nikko. This does clarify some things for us and the direction we need to go. One final question:
If the customization is done on the Enfold theme (parent), yes it would be lost since all files within the parent theme will be overwritten during the update, if you are using a child theme, then customization on files will be retained. Any customization on Theme Options will not be lost whether you use a child theme or not.
How can I tell on the backend if the customization has been done on the parent or a “child” theme?
Thank you?
April 21, 2017 at 10:52 pm #781460Hi,
If you check into Appearance > Themes (in WP Dashboard), check if the Active theme is Enfold or Enfold Child. After reviewing the thread, I checked on your site and it seems it’s not using a child theme.
Best regards,
Nikko -
