Trying to access the WP login page for my site and getting the following error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function av_icon_char() in /public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/searchform.php on line 18
Updated the theme to the latest 4.2 version via FTP but that did not resolve the issue. Have also tried disabling all of the plugins even though it states the issue is related to an Enfold theme file.
Please can you advise ASAP.
Thanks
December 15, 2017 at 2:17 pm #889301Hi,
Can you please post FTP and WP admin logins here privately so we can look into it?
Best regards,
YigitDecember 15, 2017 at 2:22 pm #889303Details provided as requested,
Thank you!
December 15, 2017 at 2:27 pm #889304Hi!
I was able to login to backend and cannot see any errors on the frontend. The theme is the latest version as well.
Attached screenshots in private content field.
Please flush browser cache and refresh your page a few times – http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Hard_RefreshBest regards,
YigitDecember 15, 2017 at 2:33 pm #889305Hi,
I have cleared down the entire history from my Chrome browser inc. cache, cookies, content settings, app data, etc.
Just tried a hard refresh on the login page and still getting the same error – see linked screenshot.
Also tried this on Safari with same result.December 15, 2017 at 2:42 pm #889308Hey!
I just tried again on Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera however it still loads fine on my end.
Are you able to test on another network to see if that helps? I strongly believe it has something to do with cache :)Best regards,
YigitDecember 15, 2017 at 2:53 pm #889312Hi,
I cleared down everything on a third browser (Firefox) and tried it again, same error.
I then downloaded a copy of Opera, so there can’t be anything in that cache/profile, connected up the free VPN connection to route the traffic through another country and then tried it again, same error.
– See linked screenshots.
I really don’t see how it can be a cache issue with a brand new browser installation via a VPN connection.
Thanks.December 16, 2017 at 10:02 am #889508Hi,
I get the same error as you do on my end, not sure why it’s working for Yigit though. Did you try to disable all plugins to see if one is causing a conflict?
Best regards,
RikardDecember 18, 2017 at 11:14 am #889964Hi Rikard,
Yes, I have tried renaming the plugins folder and the individual plugin folders via FTP to disable them – I still get the error. Please feel free to try this yourself with the connection details supplied.
What does that error message mean/refer to? Is there an error in the theme searchform.php file?
I really need to get this resolved ASAP please.
Thanks.December 18, 2017 at 12:26 pm #889988Hi,
I checked and I don’t see any issues on my end (screenshot in private content). Can you let us know what browser and OS you are using?
Best regards,
NikkoDecember 18, 2017 at 12:30 pm #889989Running macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and I’ve tried the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera.
Your colleague Rikard had the same issue as I, can he not look into this? It’s tiresome explaining the same details over and over – the browsers I have tried are already listed in the above notes.
I’ve tried clearing down the caches and cookies, I’ve tried installed new browsers, I’ve tried disabling the plugins, I’ve tried updating the theme to the latest release.
December 19, 2017 at 5:49 am #890337Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, I renamed the plugin folder and after that the login screen appears as it should on my end, so the reason is likely a conflict from one of the plugins. Could you try to log in now and remove all your plugins and add them back one by one to see when the error occurs again?
Best regards,
RikardDecember 19, 2017 at 12:31 pm #890439I tried renaming the plugin folder twice before and it didn’t resolve the issue but it appears to be working fine now. I will troubleshoot the plugins installed and see if I can work out what it conflicting.
Thank you for your help with this issue.
