Please see “Common ‘Broken Theme’ and ‘Stylesheet Missing’ WordPress Issues” section here http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/269/0/my-wordpress-theme-isnt-working-what-should-i-do
For a quick guide on updating your theme take a look at this video on updating the Enfold theme via FTP: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67209750Regards,

This isn’t an issue with the theme and instead is rooted in how users upload the theme files. If the theme folder alone isn’t uploaded to your wp-content folder this error occurs.
So making sure that you only update or upload the enfold folder with just the theme files in is important. The video Yigit linked to is one I did some time ago and if you follow along step by step will ensure you can update over FTP each time without issue.
You can also update right through the WordPress admin if you add in your ThemeForest api and username to the theme settings: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Best regards,

Updating over FTP is fine and can be done pretty easily by following the steps in the video if other methods don’t work. It also allows you to watch the transfer to make sure nothing goes awry.

The problem is caused by the hidden __MacOSX folder which is visible to PC users: http://old.floatingsun.net/2007/02/07/whats-with-__macosx-in-zip-files/
Unfortunately the envato staff uses MacOS to zip the files and the PC then shows this “hidden” folder like a standard data folder. If you upload the theme files make sure that only the “enfold” theme folder is uploaded via ftp. If the wp-content/themes directory on your server contains a __MacOSX folder please delete it.
Cheers!

The most important thing with the missing stylesheet error is making sure that your file structure looks like this on your server:
wp-content
->themes
->->enfoldAnd then inside of that enfold folder there is the theme files which looks like this:
April 9, 2014 at 12:29 pm #249208Hi Devin,
Thank you. This is the same as the theme on the server domain. I sent the screenshot to the provider too.
By now I solved the issue by reinstalling the theme (with the support of the provider!) as new and copying step by step the content, database and all the necessary. Now it works but I’m still worried for the next upgrade. It should be a different solution to avoid this mismatch and it can’t depend on which operating system the theme has been created… it should be tested on WIN and MAC as a rule before the release, don’t you agree ? I do not know if the next time the provider will be still available to collaborate and I do not feel like being ‘prisoner’ of the provider …
By now that’s all. Have a great day, NonaApril 11, 2014 at 4:42 am #250081The theme install/update has been tested on thousands of different instances and we’ve only had a handful of users have issues with updating.
The actual update function has been tested and is in place on hundreds of thousands of themes since its Envato’s and the theme just incorporates it.
If you are worried about updating from within WordPress you can update over FTP which takes under 5 minutes as well.
