I have Enfold and want to import the Enfold 2017 Demo;
WP is up to date; Theme is up to date 4.7.5 and i have a valid Envato private token (revalidated it just moments ago)
Help advise what step I need to take in order to get the demo imported – thank you!!Some potentially important information you may need:
current i went to the demo import tab (under ENFOLD)
hovered over the Enfold2017 demo
clicked the “Click to Import” Button and waited while the spinning around rotated.
a few minutes later I got the error message “Importing didn’t work! You might want to try reloading the page and then try again”
which i have several time and via two different computers at two different locations.Site is hosted via namecheap on their EasyWP Turbo WP hosting plan

July 17, 2020 at 4:49 am #1231078Hi,
I get 504 errors on your site both when trying to import it manually and automatically, I’m not sure what the problem is but I’m guessing it’s due to a server setting which needs to be adjusted. I’ve asked the rest of the team to have a look as well.

July 19, 2020 at 4:26 am #1231508Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the login, please try downgrading and extracting the file in the Private Content area, it contains a zip file of the images for the demo and a modified enfold-2017.xml file. Please upload using FTP or your webhost file manager the two folders in the image zip file to\wp-content\uploads\
and upload the enfold-2017.xml file to\wp-content\themes\enfold\includes\admin\demo_files\
then clear your browser cache and clear your site cache, the button in your admin toolbar.
Then try importing again.Best regards,
MikeJuly 20, 2020 at 1:43 am #1231591files uploaded.. looks doubled could you please double check.. and the home page looks different.. did I mess something up?
July 20, 2020 at 12:50 pm #1231697Hi,
I see the import worked, but some past attempts are also showing so please install the WP Reset plugin and reset your site. If there is anything you want to save like your slider, please export. After the reset, enable the theme and try the import again. You should not need to upload the files again because “reset” doesn’t remove files, just the insistence in the database.Best regards,

Jordan ShannonJuly 26, 2020 at 5:36 pm #1233364interesting topic, can you guys confirm that downloading a demo when our current them is online wont overwrite it and erase everything ? I assume the demo pages would appear in the pages part of the dashboard right ? do we simply have to click and download the demo ?
July 26, 2020 at 5:41 pm #1233368Hi hankboomer,
Well, it’s better to import a demo on a clean installation. There can be pages with the same name and some theme settings that can have some changes or conflicts, but if it’s a test installation you can go ahead and import the demo.

VictoriaJuly 26, 2020 at 6:15 pm #1233383thank you Victoria, i think i would rather schedule a clean revamp of the site then and copy all the verbiage + media (with also the name of the pages i assume for the google SEO :)
July 26, 2020 at 8:08 pm #1233391Hi,
@hankboomer That would probably be a better approach.
@tracybrinkmann Glad we were able to help, we will close this now. Thank you for using Enfold. For your information, you can take a look at Enfold documentation here
