Hi there,
I experienced funny behavier with “ü”, for example: http://www.eifelbildverlag.de/ein-riese-namens-heimat-streifzuge-durch-den-deutsch-luxemburgischen-naturpark/
Scroll down with Firefox to: “Natur als Brückenschlag” and you’ll see the dots are not sitting on the u.This happens to more than one Website.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Sven.

It’s a Firefox problem/bug with special characters encoding, one thing you can do is use the umlaut HTML code, i tested this and it does the trick:
<h2>Natur als Brückenschlag</h2>

Overwriting on editor solves my problems.May 22, 2015 at 8:21 am #448214June 6, 2019 at 11:46 am #1107902What does that mean exactly?
“Overwriting in the editor solves my problems.”
I have this problem again and again and would like to have a solution for it :-)

Well Word f.e. seems to use “combining diacritical marks” :
u and ̈
are shiftet together to an ü
see what happens with a copy pasted ü from word in a “real” text editor erasing one letter after the other (6letters here)- it looks like an ü – but isn’t:
https://webers-testseite.de/diaresis.mp4copy/pasting texts from word will sometimes end in this looking then:
u ̈
try the paste as text field in text-editor
