I have two websites (see in private)
On the FIRST one the search works perfectly giving a long list of items found
On the SECOND one they are nested so you have to click each of the page links at the bottom.
I want the second site to match the first.
I have looked for loop-search.php which seems to be mentioned in the script but neither sites have this in the child folders.
Any ideas?
November 3, 2022 at 2:30 am #1371166Hey ColinWalton,
Thank you for the inquiry.
You might have added a filter that alters the search query and sets the postsnumber parameter to 1, which is why the results are nested and requires paginations. Please check the functions.php file or post the login details in the private field so that we can check the site further.

IsmaelNovember 3, 2022 at 11:49 am #1371207Hi Ismael,
Thank you for the suggestion. I have tried uploading and replacing a blank functions.php onto my website, but this hasn’t changed anything.
See private for details.
November 3, 2022 at 12:04 pm #1371212I have found a previous message that said users were in USA, Lithuania and Philippines. So have unlocked these. Here are the login details.
Good luck!
November 6, 2022 at 8:29 pm #1371561Hi,
Thanks for the login, but unfortunately I can’t find a reason for this, I know you said the child theme functions.php is empty, are there any other files in the child theme, I couldn’t see because the theme editor is disabled.
Are these two sites on the same server with the same PHP and server cache?
Are they using an “object” cache such as Memcached, Redis, Varnish, Litespeed?Best regards,

So ColinWalton.co.uk and WaltonCreative.com are both on the same server with the same plugins and same child theme settings, and only one is incorrect?
This is strange, I would think that one must be different somehow.
Did you update via FTP by trying to overwrite the files? This could leave old differently named files behind and cause errors.Best regards,
MikeNovember 9, 2022 at 11:26 am #1371876HI Mike,
I usually update WordPress using their installer. I have looked through to see anything old, but the oldest seem to about 2021.
Inside the WP-Content / Enfold folder there are some files which date from 20/10/2021. Such as:
404.php
archive.php
author.php
comments.php
etc.Do you think it would be worth deleting the Enfold folder in Themes and start again?
November 9, 2022 at 11:33 am #1371877PS, just deleted Enfold theme using File Manager on Plesk.
Then downloaded the latest version and uploaded it to the themes folder and expanded the zip folder.
Sadly the search still has the individual items listed, rather than all of them.
Could the WordPress be the problem?

November 9, 2022 at 11:37 am #1371881PS, tried switching to a different theme twenty twenty three, but this didn’t show any items in the list.
Sorry!
November 9, 2022 at 11:42 am #1371882PPSSS.
Now tried with Twenty Twenty One, and this time it shows the same content as Enfold – see private.
I presume the problem is with WordPress?

November 9, 2022 at 8:55 pm #1371990Hi,
Thanks for your testing, are both sites using the same WordPress version? I forgot to ask that, I guess that I just assumed it.
When I check the results items from both sites they seem to both be using portfolio items and I don’t see anything specifically different about them, are the built the same on both sites?
For example one site is not using a different element or shortcode or code block on the portfolio pages?
Do you have HTML code in an element title on the portfolio pages, such as “strong” for a bold title? An unclosed HTML tag might cause the search results to stop.
I’m just trying to think of possible errors.Best regards,

Sorry for the troubles. We tried to logging in to the staging site using the same credentials above but they don’t work. Would you mind creating an admin account for the staging site so that we can check it further?
Best regards,

We can see the site but we can’t get in to the dashboard using the same credentials. Please create an admin account for the staging site so that we can check the issue further.
Thank you for your patience.
