I believe that this is something that is fairly basic but I am having issues creating a simple sidebar. I am linking a sample link to the existing website page that we are converting to your theme. Do you happen to have a tutorial available or some quick tips on how to recreate the similar layout on the original website over to your new design? Thanks in advance ~E

BasilisJune 19, 2015 at 3:13 pm #461965I have been playing around with some design options etc – and I think I am zeroing in on how to build out the side bar. I am assuming it is through the widget option. So if I was to create a widget for the services pages – where I just want the “services” pages listed… I create a new widget / drag the pages widget over / and then what is the next step? Do I have to go in the “exclude” section and literally put every page ID for the content I don’t want displayed? There has to be an easier way to make a simple sidebar that I can attach to each of the service pages for quick navigation purposes. Does this make sense?
June 21, 2015 at 5:40 pm #462380So…I’m an idiot lol. The only reason they were not displaying correctly was b/c I had not published the pages yet lol. But on a secondary note – a few more questions came up that I was hoping you could assist me with:
1) On the following page for example (http://jlpinvestmentsinc.com/new/services/estate-considerations/) I created a “parent” page called “services” and then assigned each of the sub-pages to it. On some of the “services” pages there are additional sub-pages (reference: “investments”) – I love how it automatically populates the sub-pages within that “parent” page in the sidebar. However, I have been noticing that there appears to be a “gray” screen that shows up briefly when clicking between the sidebar links. Is this something due to an error setting up on my end? Or is it a potential glitch? It will not make or break the site but I would like to get it as seamless a transition between pages as possible.
Also – I notice that it automatically sorts the sidebar page links in alphabetical order – is there a way to change this?
Thanks in advance!
