Hi – I’m missing a basic understanding before being able to use your portfolio tutorial video. It was missing a piece or two for me – like how to input 200 photos into a portfolio (if you have a link, please provide).
If I want to create a page like one of my Flickr albums, but on my page (ex: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dominique-hurley/sets/72157640421822374/page3 )
1) What is the difference between setting up a Masonry Portfolio page (with over 200 photos, no text) and
2) Setting up a new Page and adding a Tiled Mosaic gallery thorough Add Media (an option that got added when I put Jetpack on there).Basically, I don’t want people going off site to Flickr anymore, but stay on my site. I need a suggestion on how to best do that. P.S. in non-techy language please.
Thanks
September 23, 2015 at 6:09 am #507478Hi dominiquehurley!
Thank you for using Enfold.
I think it’s better if you use the Masonry Gallery element instead of the Masonry element. If you use the latter, you’ll have to create 200 portfolio items then set the featured image individually for each portfolio post. The masonry gallery element under media elements panel of the advance layout builder on the other side requires no post to be created in order to showcase images. Insert the masonry gallery, add the images, tweak a few options and you’re done.

Is there a link to a basic document that can help me understand the whole portfolio part of Enfold? I’ve looked at the demos and it isn’t enough. Thanks.September 23, 2015 at 12:26 pm #507668Hi!
Please see – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/intro-to-portfolios/

YigitSeptember 23, 2015 at 12:31 pm #507677Thanks Yigit. I’ve watched it several times, but it’s missing the basics of what and why portfolios. Also, it doesn’t talk about the whole creating portfolio items and except to say that you take them from there. I was hoping for the foundation first. Thanks.
September 24, 2015 at 10:47 am #508266Hi!
Portfolio items are basically posts but in the theme you can use the Portfolio Grid element to showcase these posts in a different way. I’m talking about the Portfolio Grid element and the AJAX Portfolio. You can find an example here, click one of the items: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio/portfolio-ajax/
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 24, 2015 at 12:00 pm #508315Thanks Ismael. I’ll soon be wanting to crete a special grid on my homepage to highlight 12 of my blog posts on one topic. Can I choose my posts as portfolio items or will I need to redo them as individual portfolio items?
September 25, 2015 at 7:48 am #508789Hi!
You can use this plugin to convert posts to a custom post type (portfolio): https://wordpress.org/plugins/convert-post-types/

IsmaelSeptember 25, 2015 at 2:24 pm #509035Thank you. Will they still appear in my blog as well?

September 26, 2015 at 9:52 am #509427Hey!
If you convert them to portfolio items, they will not work as a default blog post any more. I think it’s better if you recreate the portfolio items.
Cheers!
IsmaelSeptember 26, 2015 at 11:48 am #509456Thanks. Understood. You may close this issue.
