    Hi there,

I have a fresh install of WordPress on my site: https://evolve.oladigital.com.au/

I have downloaded x11 layout builder templates and the theme settings file from the old site, https://evolveelc.com.au/ to upload to the new site.

For the theme settings, it has allowed me to upload and given me the success message and refreshed the page, but no settings appear. I’ve tried multiple times with the same result.

The layout builder templates file will upload, but I receive the warning ‘Illegal file was uploaded. No templates were added.’

I’m unsure what’s going wrong as both files were downloaded from an up to date website with Enfold installed.

    Thanks

    Hey oladigital_co,

Please share admin login details to both sites in private so that we can have a closer look.

    Best regards,

Thanks Rikard. The theme settings and page layout template files have already been uploaded to the media library on evolve.oladigital.com.au

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I tried importing the theme settings from your old site, but it’s not applying when I try it either. Does it make a difference if you upgrade your PHP version to 8.x?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

I’ve updated the PHP version to 8.1 (matching original website) and tried uploading both theme settings and page layout .txt files. Still no luck importin either, and the same error message persists.

Do you have any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi,

What happens if you increase these variables on the server?

    PHP time limit
    Max input time

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,

I tried increasing both with no avail unfortunately. I also tried deleting all but one of the layouts (from the original website) and that still had the same ‘illegal content’ error. So it must be something to do with the layouts in general. Lastly, I tried uploading a layout from a different website I created also using Enfold, and those layouts did successfully upload.

So this tells me the issue is from the original site: https://evolveelc.com.au/

Is there any light you can shed on why this site may be the issue? I’m stuck.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I’m not sure why this is happening, but there seems to be something wrong with the files, they might be corrupt. I get this error while trying to upload the theme settings to the WordPress media library on two separate test installations:

Sorry, you are not allowed to upload this file type.

Could you try reaching out to your hosting provider and check if they might know what the problem could be? I don’t think this a theme problem, as it works when I try the same procedure between my test installations, and we haven’t had any other users report this problem either.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
