Vinay KashyapMarch 9, 2016 at 9:34 pm #595841Hi, thanks but i do not need a multilanguage site. I never said such a thing. I need only to translate the the animated countdown from english to portuguese. It does not matter where my visitor are i want my website to be in portuguese. I already managed to translate the woocommerce, so i onlye need to translate the fields
hour
minute
and
seccound
to other words in portuguese.
Should I use Wmpl even so?

March 15, 2016 at 12:07 am #598041Hi!
Sorry for the late reply!
You can go to wp-content/themes/enfold/lang folder and edit language files using this free software – http://poedit.net/.
Regarding WPML issue, do you mind creating a temporary admin login and posting it here privately so we can look into it?

YigitMarch 29, 2016 at 3:25 am #604216I went to wp-content/themes/enfold/lang and there is a file there in my language pt.br is there a place where i should transfer this file to?
March 30, 2016 at 4:01 am #604904Hi!
If you’re using a child theme, create a folder called “lang” then place the language file inside. You can then add this code in the functions.php file:
add_action('after_setup_theme', 'avia_child_lang_setup'); function avia_child_lang_setup() { remove_action('after_setup_theme', 'avia_lang_setup'); $lang = get_stylesheet_directory() . '/lang'; load_theme_textdomain('avia_framework', $lang); }
I’m sorry for the confusion. If you didn’t want a multi-language site, you should have not installed the WPML plugin. What you need is to install WordPress in portuguese version. This will automatically translate theme or plugin related strings to that language. https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_in_Your_Language

IsmaelMarch 30, 2016 at 10:08 pm #605494Ismael,
I am doing It as Ygit said using wmpl. i am not using a child theme and my theme is in portuguese. I need you to be specific about where the po mo files are located so I can change the en files for pt.br.
I also need to know if this files that i referred to in my last answer are the translation files inmy languege.
so 1- where are the languege files located.
2 – If there is already a po/mo file in portugue in the place i related.March 31, 2016 at 9:51 am #605736Hi!
1.) The language files are located in the theme’s lang folder.
2.) Yes, the portuguese (pt_BR.mo & pt_BR.po) language files are available in the lang folder.Open the pt_BR.po file in poedit software then translate these lines:
#: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:25 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:187 msgid "Second" msgstr "" #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:26 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:78 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:188 msgid "Minute" msgstr "" #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:27 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:69 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:189 msgid "Hour" msgstr "" #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:28 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:190 msgid "Day" msgstr "" #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:29 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:191 msgid "Week" msgstr "" #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/countdown.php:61 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/masonry_entries.php:116 #: ../config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/portfolio.php:162 #: ../config-woocommerce/config.php:1002 msgid "Date" msgstr ""
Put the translation inside the “msgstr” entry.
For more info, please refer to this link: https://doc.osclass.org/Translating_and_editing_language_files_(.po_and_.mo)
Cheers!
IsmaelApril 1, 2016 at 10:40 pm #606880Hi, @marcelhochman
If you don’t follow Ismael’s instructions above, you will loose any changes made to your language files when Enfold is updated (they will be overwritten).
Using a child theme is easy and safe. Besides, Enfold has a nice “Import Parent Theme Settings” option so you can import current Enfold settings. And if you don’t need multilanguage, remove WPML.
So, I would suggest you to install and activate the child theme, import parent settings, download pt_BR.po file, edit it with Poedit, generate the pt_BR.mo with it and upload both (pt_BR.po and pt_BR.mo) to the child theme lang folder. Then you will need to add above Ismael’s code.
Good luck!
