Hi hi,
Untill now I have been working locally, and today I have just moved the website for testing. You can check it.
http://14.192.65.20/~mymakna/test/home-3/There are few sections that I will need help for. I would be very grateful if you find time to consider them.
1. Transfer problems with the images links: After I have transferred the website from localhost to the live page, I have used SQL update to change the links from localhost/wordpress to http://14.192.65.20/~mymakna/. Anyhow some of the pictures are displayed some are still keeping the old link. Can u pls tell me what might be the problem?
2.IE Issues:
-The font is different
– All the objects(buttons, pictures)who are suppose to have round squares are displayed as boxes.
– The width of the whole website is smaller
– The background picture of the buttons Volunteer and Donate is not displayed in full size. Mozila doesnt show them properly as well.3. Chrome: Social bookmarks icons which are part of the header are not displayed on Chrome, even though I can see them in the code.
Thank you a lot for your help. Highly appreciated.

When moving WordPress installs you also need to take into account serialized data. Its best to use a plugin like this one to help with that: WP MIGRATE DB
2. IE doesn’t have support for everything other browsers do. Fonts, border radius etc are not going to render in older versions of IE.
3.I have no issue seeing the social icons in the header in Chrome on my end. Maybe it was just a caching issue or something temporary.
Edit: You also need to update your theme files to 2.4.2 to bring it up to date with the newest round of bug fixes and updates.
Cheers!

IE is just making everything complicated. Why does it exist? ooo yeahh…i used to download other browser:)
I m sorry that I m going to bombard you with questions, but I didnt expect that there will be so many errors in IE.
Anyhow,
– I m testing the web site in IE 8. So what you are saying that all my buttons will be as boxes and all the images wont be able to be shown with round corners? Check this page http://14.192.65.20/~mymakna/test/home-3/our-role-and-impact/about/. The buttons look very bad. If there is any way to fix them pls let me know.– Also very important one is the News section at the footer section. I would need some help there. As you can see the pictures are not showen properly.
–-White space between the Image which is part of the color section and the footer. http://14.192.65.20/~mymakna/test/home-3/on-going-campaigns/. Also here http://14.192.65.20/~mymakna/test/home-3/get-involved/fundraising-events/. It looks very bad the space between the picture of the bold girl and EXPLORE THE GALLERY SECTION
– Another issue is that the images effect of popping out when scrolling doesnt work in IE., as well as the icon list. Example this page http://14.192.65.20/~mymakna/test/home-3/our-role-and-impact/about/history/. Also the hover effect doesnt work.
-The slide transitions on the first page and all the pages using Easy Slider is very bad..You can see many black spots in between. http://14.192.65.20/~mymakna/test/home-3/
-I used the partners logo elements on few pages and I can see that IE doesnt display the arrows. Example http://14.192.65.20/~mymakna/test/home-3/our-role-and-impact/about/our-partners/
THANK YOU A LOT. I hope I can fix all this error and launch the website.
November 8, 2013 at 5:37 am #186025Sorry I didnt read the update part… The problem is whenever I update the theme, many plugins are missing, and I have to do them all over again. Is there any way that I update the theme without affecting the current one?
November 9, 2013 at 3:12 pm #186465Hi!
Plugins should not be missing when you update your theme. If you want to make changes on theme files, you can create a child theme. You can find Devin’s video tutorial here http://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67221517
Cheers!
