    Hi,
I am running WP 4.3.9 and Enfold 3.7.1 and the site Is currently using PHP version 5.5

I wish to upgrade and retain the integrity of the website and was wondering if you can advise, being as I notice there have been 2 major upgrades ( 3.8 and 4.0). can you advise the best way to upgrade without affecting my website? I am also conscious that there were mentions of W3 Total Cache causing issues with the theme- do I need to do anything to avoid issues with it??

Can I install the latest version (4.0.3) by uploading via my control panel ( file manager) without any significant issues?
The site is rated as slow/poor in speed. Will the above improve this?

I have not been able to update the theme as outlined within WordPress despite having used an API key within the theme and my Theme Forest account. I Just tried a new one and it will not work.

I have access via Control Panel. Can I upload the theme that way as a Zip file without overwriting preferences? Also, what version of PHP should be used wit this theme and latest WP?

I am also conscious that there were mentions of W3 Total Cache causing issues with the theme- do I need to do anything to avoid issues with it??

Can you please take a look?

    Hi,

Your settings should be safe on updates, though if you are worried that it’s going to affect your site then maybe you could set up a copy of the site on a local or staging environment, and perform the updates there first to see if there any problems?

    Best regards,
    Rikard
