every time i activate the theme on my site, it crashes the WP dashboard and i cant login anymore… help!

Please try to increase the memory allocated to PHP on your installation: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
128 or 256 might be a good idea to have.
