Hi.
I’ve added my Username and API Key into the Theme Update settings, but when an update to the Theme is available, it doesn’t show up in the WordPress Updates area.
Regards
IainNovember 5, 2015 at 10:16 pm #531212Same here, I’ve tried to manually force for update check but nothing happens. I’d posted a thread about it – at least i though i did but I don’t see it here. In fact I also had noticed on 2 of my sites with Enfold that the API and my user name had disappeared since I’d first installed the theme. I re-entered them but no update showing.
I wonder if there is a problem short term as I saw a thread on the update blog post about a small bug with the latest version anyway.
I’m waiting for 3.4.1 which they say will fix the bug. But it would be good to know from support if there is a problem.I am running Enfold child theme and have one API key per installation at Envato – I wasn’t sure whether its best to have separate keys per instal or if one key at Envato is enough for every theme.
November 5, 2015 at 10:38 pm #531227I’m using a Child Theme too, so maybe that is the reason?
November 7, 2015 at 7:57 am #531775Hi,
The functions is not always running as well as expected, please try to update to the latest version 3.4.1 to see if that helps. If not then please update manually: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Thanks,
RikardNovember 7, 2015 at 8:05 am #531785Hi Rikard.
If the auto update is not working, then surely the only means I have to update to 3.4.1 is to do it manually right?
To update manually, I am assuming that I need to upload the files via FTP and overwrite the existing files yes?
Because I am using a Child Theme, I am also assuming that I should be protected from breaking my website and losing my customization’s too right?
Regards
IainNovember 7, 2015 at 12:30 pm #531843Hi spottydog,
I updated one of my sites manually via FTP, follow the instructions it it very easy and worked fine for me using FileZilla. I too run a child theme and because you effectively just overwrite the parent theme folder nothing changes in the child theme.
The site I updated was fine afterwards so I’ll now update all my other clients Enfold sites this way for now and see if it works for the next update. It just takes a bit longer, depending on your internet connection I guess.
Auto update currently doesn’t work on any of theme in spite of having a valid licence for each – I have 4 client sites on enfold now and going to do 2 more shortly :-)
Cheers
HNovember 8, 2015 at 3:21 am #531959OK, so I manually uploaded the latest Theme files and overwrote the existing ones.
But under the Theme Update area is still reports v3.4.1
It reads:No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (3.4.1)
November 8, 2015 at 3:48 am #531961Oops.
Is 3.4.1 the latest version?November 8, 2015 at 3:13 pm #532097Hi!
Yes, the latest version of Enfold is currently 3.4.1. Glad your figured it out!
Let us know if you have any other questions or issues!Regards,
YigitNovember 12, 2015 at 10:25 pm #535110Hi.
So I just received an email that 3.4.2 was available, but once again, my Theme is not notifying me that an update is available.
I must say I will be disappointed if I have to manually update this Theme every time there is an update.
Is this going to be fixed?Regards
IainNovember 13, 2015 at 8:42 am #535280Hi,
Please try the following plugin to clear WordPress transients: https://wordpress.org/plugins/transients-manager/
Best regards,
RikardNovember 13, 2015 at 9:13 am #535289OK, so how do I use this.
I can see a whole list of “transients”.
I can see one that relates to Theme Updates that reads:7159 update_themes object Does not expire Edit | Delete
Am I supposed to delete that?
What are the implications of doing that?
I don’t want to break anything.Regards
IainNovember 13, 2015 at 5:30 pm #535548November 13, 2015 at 9:00 pm #535721Hi Yigit.
I clicked on “Delete”, but the transient doesn’t delete.
So I went into the “Edit” area, and there is the following code:O:8:”stdClass”:4:{s:12:”last_checked”;i:1447441063;s:7:”checked”;a:4:{s:15:”enfold-child-01″;s:5:”3.3.2″;s:10:”enfold.bak”;s:5:”3.3.2″;s:6:”enfold”;s:5:”3.4.1″;s:13:”twentyfifteen”;s:3:”1.3″;}s:8:”response”;a:0:{}s:12:”translations”;a:0:{}}
I don’t know if that helps or not.

IainNovember 16, 2015 at 6:48 am #536313Hi,
Not sure what’s going on there, seem like it’s not even possible to edit the field? Please try to disable all other plugins in order to avoid conflicts. You could try the following plugin as well: https://wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/
Regards,
RikardNovember 16, 2015 at 6:56 am #536321Hi Rikard.
That Plug-in did the trick.
No need to disable any plug-in’s.Thanks.
IainNovember 16, 2015 at 11:14 am #536424Thanks for persevering Spottydog63, This has worked for me too.
I’m going to leave the plugin deactivated afterwards and re-activate only if i need it again – I don’t like to have too many plugins running on a WordPress install.
HuguesNovember 16, 2015 at 2:20 pm #536493Unused plugins should better be deleted totally, or at least keep updated as well, because bad people could try to hack in it’s files directly, active or not, if there would be any security issues in the future,
November 17, 2015 at 7:01 am #537124Hi,
We’re not very fond of adding too many plugins either but it seems it’s needed for this issue which is a bit out of our hands unfortunately. And yes, try to deactivate or delete the plugin if you’re not using it. You could make a note of which one is working for you somewhere if you should have the same problem further on.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 18, 2015 at 2:36 pm #538129I’ve tried both Transient Cleaner and Transient Manager plugins and neither deletes the update_themes transient object – is this because the plugins (I think) only delete “expired” transients but update_themes is set as ‘Does not expire’ hence it does not get removed?
Bottom line is Theme Update is telling me no updates are available but I am running 3.3.2 and want to upgrade. And I know I can do it manually via FTP but I’m trying to get this ‘auto update’ of Enfold feature working given it’s part of the theme…
NB. Check Manually doesn’t work either.
November 19, 2015 at 6:45 am #538749Hi @zimbo,
Could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

RikardNovember 19, 2015 at 12:51 pm #538924Login details below. I’ve only got Transient Cleaner plugin installed at present but I did try Transient Manager as well.
November 23, 2015 at 4:59 am #540490Hi @zimbo,
Sorry for the late reply, we will need a URL as well to check your site :-)
Best regards,
RikardNovember 23, 2015 at 1:29 pm #540762Indeed… forgot that. In private content.
November 26, 2015 at 2:22 pm #543128Any update on a resolution to this problem?
December 1, 2015 at 11:53 am #545064Hi!
refuse from bumping into your own thread, as it marks it as “answered” and pushes it behind in our queue.
You are using an old version of Transient Cleaner plugin, so please upgrade and let us know if this helps to you.Regards,
AndyDecember 2, 2015 at 1:09 pm #545844I have updated Transient Cleaner to 1.3.1 and re-run both Clear Expired Transients and Remove All Transients functions.
Theme Update still says “You are running the latest version! (3.3.2)”. A manual check tells me “Your themes are all up-to-date.”
So it still does not work. The login requested by Rikard is still active for someone to investigate further.
December 2, 2015 at 1:11 pm #545845Hi!
Have you made sure that your API key is correct? You may need to manually update the theme for this time – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ and if your API key is correct, you should receive auto-updates later on
Best regards,
YigitDecember 16, 2015 at 7:24 pm #553949API Key Auto Update process does not work for me either. I’m also using a child theme. I tried generating a new API key on ThemeForest but that didn’t work. I’d rather just use FTP than mess around with deleting transients. I hope you guys fix this in the future to make updates easier. Thanks.
