    Hi,

    I just updated my Enfold Theme to v4.2.6 and I get this error message when viewing the site:

    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/content/26/11983626/html/Katya Williams/wp-content/themes/enfold/header.php on line 6

    I need this fixed ASAP please. Thank you.

    Hi Khoa!

    Sorry for the inconvenience. Please upgrade PHP version to minimum 5.6 or replace /wp-content/themes/enfold/header.php file with this one – https://www.dropbox.com/s/r389b5x4ippscyn/header.php?dl=0

    Thank you so much for the quick response! your header.php replacement file is just a temporary fix right? I still need to have my web hosting provider upgrade to PHP v5.6 or higher, for future updates to work, correct?

    Hi!

    That is recommended (please see – https://kinsta.com/blog/php-7-hhvm-benchmarks/ ) however not necessary. We will include that header.php file in upcoming Enfold update to make it backwards compatible with older versions of PHP :)
