Hello.
This is driving me crazy. In my wordpress dashboard it is notifing me that my theme needs an update but my theme is up to date and so are all my plugins but something is wrong and I can’t figure out what it needs – new activation key? It’s telling me when I revalidate it that there were no problems
Recently a new wp_php code (or something like this) was reinserted cause it was missing and it seemed super happy got rid of the update stuff was able to download the free plugin in called “plugin opt” but the freaking notice for theme update came back.I have renewed my item support and really need some help to see what is the problem with it. Please help. Please do not update anything without letting me know first. I have a lot of customization on the site and don’t want to lose anything so would like a heads up.

Well, of course, if you have a test site you need to attempt the update there first and then do it on the live site. Depending on what you have in your child theme there might be some changes.
