It says that the site switched temporarily to maintenance mode, but it doesn’t recover until I get support from the site storage technician.
They looked at the problem and say that it concerns the theme.
Best regards,
Jacob
January 11, 2018 at 11:54 am #896114go to your root directory of your wordpress installation via ftp. Activate your ftp client to show invisible (hidden) files ( those with the dot in front like .htaccess too) there is a .maintenance file – delete it. (under filezilla it is on menu point “Server” – force to show hidden files)
now you have access to your site again. If not and you can not login to your admin account – tell us.January 11, 2018 at 12:58 pm #896150That’s OK, you taught me something. But I’m looking to find why it happens, that the site crashes while trying to update the site.
January 11, 2018 at 1:21 pm #896154i do allways update enfold via ftp – exactly to avoid these things.
It can always come to a server interruption – and an updates fails.
If you are using a child-theme – there will be no risk to completely erase the enfold folder and upload a new one.
( Or to rename the enfold folder to enfold-old and upload the new one – than you can switch back if you have some troubles with the new one)
the dynamic content like your settings of enfold are in wp-content folder (wp-content/uploads/dynamic-avia) (and even layerslider is out of theme directory).
On the same reason i do prefer WP Updates be doing it manually ( but here via Dashboard) – because i like to read about bugs before i update my WP.January 12, 2018 at 6:10 am #896431Hi,
I’m 100% sure but I don’t think the maintenance mode is down to which theme you are using, it’s core WordPress functionality. Though we will of course try to help you out anyway, did you try out the suggestions posted by @guenni007 and did you have any luck with them?
