I just got a new client that uses your theme. I have tried to update the theme and it wipes out all of their template files. I am not super familiar with using child themes and how that should be configured. Can you guide me in the best direction of how we can update their theme without losing out templates and custom data?
April 26, 2018 at 1:56 pm #947264Hey,
To start using a child theme, please see – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/.
If you have not made any changes on parent theme files, you can simply update the theme via FTP and overwrite all files – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/. Your content is saved on your database.Best regards,

May 7, 2018 at 7:23 pm #952829The biggest issue I am having is that the blog is not working with pagination. The developer who built the site made a lot of edits to the parent theme and it is going to take me awhile to separate those into the child theme. Is there a quick fix I can do in the code or change out to just address the pagination to get it working for my client for now?

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

I looked at your blog (newsroom) on both sites and it seems the pagination on the staging site is working correctly, while the pagination on the live site shows the same entries for each “page”, is this the correct issue?
I didn’t see anything in your functions.php that might cause this, that doesn’t rule out direct edits, as you said the other dev had done this. I assume you tested deactivating the pugins?
you may have to isolate all of the direct edits, I recommend trying something like https://www.devart.com/codecompare/ I have not tried it, but it seems the free version will do whole directories with sub-directories.Best regards,
