Please HELP! When clicking on Enfold in the dashboard, the settings menu has disappeared. All I can see is the “Enfold Theme Options” “Frontpage Settings”, which I can’t edit.

    • WP: 5.5
    • Enfold: 4.5.7
    • Plugins updated
    • Disabled plugins, didn’t fix

I do not have a child theme, however I’ve been meaning to add it. I’ve used this theme on many websites for several years, this is the first. Please let me know if I can provide additional information.

    Hey ziggyzip,

I see, however Enfold 4.5.7 isn’t compatible with WordPress 5.5.
    Please do the following:

    • Backup the site, install and activate a maintenance plugin and put your site under maintenance mode.
    • Switch to default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty) and delete Enfold theme.
    • Login to ThemeForest and download the latest version of Enfold (use the account you used to purchase Enfold).
    • Unzip the file downloaded from Enfold which should generate a folder, find the file called enfold.zip.
    • In your WordPress Dashboard, upload enfold.zip in the Themes (install and activate), if you’re using a child theme, activate the child theme instead.
    • Check for any errors in your site, if none is found, remove the maintenance mode.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

I will do this over the weekend and report back. Thank you for your unfailing support.

Having identical issue as the one reported above.

Went through Nikko’s steps for fix. WordPress updated and Enfold downloaded from Themeforest and installed today.

Checked to see only one Enfold folder in wp-content.

    continues. Please advise.

    Hi LVROZ,

Please open a new thread and include WordPress admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look at your site.

I backed-up, installed the theme again and still don’t see any Enfold setting controls. See screenshot.

    Hi ziggyzip,

Can you try to install and activate this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/
Wordpress 5.5 has made a major change which includes the removal of jQuery migrate plugin which is used by many plugins and themes, including the Enfold theme, with this plugin jQuery migrate is plugged in back to the site and most likely would fix that issue. This incompatibility issue was fixed beginning with Enfold 4.7.6.2 so we suggest to update to the latest version of Enfold so you can deactivate and remove this plugin unless some plugins haven’t updated yet for WP 5.5.
If installing the plugin didn’t help, you can use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/ and do the following steps (it also works for plugins):

    1. Make sure this plugin is installed and activated.
    2. Download zip file of your theme’s most recent version.
    3. Log in to WordPress as and Admin and go to Appearance > Themes.
    4. Click on the ADD NEW button.
    5. Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
    6. Click BROWSE and choose your zip file you downloaded.
    7. Click the INSTALL NOW button.

If it fails for some reason, you can do manual updating via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/#update-via-ftp (I would suggest via cPanel since FTP is slow)
Let us know if it helps.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

Hi team – experiencing identical problem here.
Have manually updated the theme via FTP to latest version. Using latest WP version too, and theme options do not show unless the jQuery plugin is being used. The current warnings on the plugin are listed as below:

jQuery Migrate Helper — Warnings encountered
This page generated the following warnings:

https://mangawhaigardenramble.org/cms/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/js/avia_advanced_form_elements.js: jQuery.fn.attr(‘checked’) might use property instead of attribute
    https://mangawhaigardenramble.org/cms/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/js/avia_dynamic_templates.js: jQuery.fn.live() is deprecated
    https://mangawhaigardenramble.org/cms/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/js/avia_dynamic_templates.js: jQuery.fn.live() is deprecated
    https://mangawhaigardenramble.org/cms/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/js/avia_dynamic_templates.js: jQuery.fn.live() is deprecated
Please make sure you are using the latest version of all of your plugins, and your theme. If you are, you may want to ask the developers of the code mentioned in the warnings for an update.

    Hi carendavis,

With the WordPress 5.5 update, the jQuery Migrate file was removed which is used by Enfold 4.7.6.1 and below, with the latest version this issue is fixed/patched.
The ones listed in the warnings are codes/files that use the jQuery Migrate file however you can just ignore this, but this is helpful since we can identify that no plugins are using jQuery Migrate, only the theme, and once the theme is updated to the latest version (make sure to have a backup before updating), you can safely remove the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin without any issues.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

Thanks Nikko, the trouble is I have the latest version 4.7.6.4 and the theme options do not display if I deactivate the jQuery Migrate plugin.
Both WP and Enfold are completely up to date!

    Hi carendavis,

Please try to clear your browser cache and/or if you have a caching plugin try to flush the cache out.
If that still doesn’t help, please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
