We are trying to build the first multilingual site with Enfold & WPML.
Now we realized that the theme options are only valid for one language. The language picker in the theme options only shows options for individual languages, but not for all languages. This is different from what I read on the WPML-forums, how Enfold should behave (https://wpml.org/de/forums/topic/enfold-theme-settings-not-taken-over/ )
Is there a way to edit the theme options for all languages?
I know that exporting and importing woiuld be a workaround, but it´s quite tedious.
Also: I cant find a way to get rid of the flag icons Enfold automatically (?) puts in the header menu after switching the site to multilanguage. Hiding with CSS isn´t optimal.
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to edit the theme options for all languages. You can set up the theme options for one language, export the settings and then import them to other languages.
Here is how to remove the flags from the menu:

Like I said, the option to edit all languages isn´t there:
In the Enfold Theme Designer menu on the left it says at the top:
“Bearbeitung:DeutschGerman (Ändern)”
and below are the other languages to choose from.If I click in the WordPress Admin bar on the “alle Sprachen / all languages” with the link …wp-admin/admin.php?page=avia&lang=all I can edit the theme, but what I save only gets saved to the main language, not the others.
Is there no other way than exporting and importing?
Thanks

Could you please attach some screenshots of the issue?
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

Thank you for the info.
You have to edit the theme option for each language manually because there are no global theme settings. As you already know, the easiest route is to import/export the theme options, and it should be done when you’re finished with the configurations. Having a separate option for each language can also be advantageous in case where you want to style each language domain differently.

Why do you chose to make the edge case the default? Most of the sites will use the same styles for all languages, so there should be general settings for all of them.
February 26, 2020 at 7:59 pm #1188221Hi haberkorninteractive,
Some languages do require different settings, as some languages have longer words or shorter words. They will need adjustments. This is why this system is in place.

VictoriaFebruary 26, 2020 at 8:27 pm #1188238I get that.
My feedback for you:
The mechanism as it is also has a downside. It should be way easier to set general settings for all languages.February 28, 2020 at 9:17 pm #1188910Hi haberkorninteractive,
Thank you for your feedback. I will pass it on to our devs.
Best regards,
