It simply does not work and many people complained about it over the last years.

Hey Maren,
I’ve used that functionality hundreds of times over the last few years and it’s never failed. What can sometimes go wrong is that the settings don’t apply straight away, but simply toggling a theme setting and saving again should make it apply.
If things still don’t work on your local site then please give us details on how to reproduce the problem you are having.
