    Hi guys,

I have just today installed WP and your theme for a new website and noticed the theme options are not working. I have never had this before. The development site (see link below) doesn’t even show the standard base green Enfold color after installation.

Yes, I can add a logo and favicon, but I cannot make any further changes to layout, styling etc.

I installed WP and Enfold through FTP, haven’t installed any plugins yet and I don’t get any error messages such as “missing style sheet…”.

    Please advise.

    Thanks & regards,
    Monique

    Hi Monique!

Your getting a 403 forbidden error on the /wp-content/uploads/dynamic_avia/enfold_child.css file.

Send us a WordPress and FTP login and we’ll take a closer look.

    Best regards,
    Elliott

    Hi Elliott,

Most probably you have other testing tools than me. I hadn’t noticed this error ;-)

Below all details you asked for.

    Thanks & regards,
    Monique

    Hi!

I have changed the CHMOD of the file to 775 and it worked.
If it happens again, do it one more time for your self.

Do let us know if you have any more issues, we will be more than happy to help you out.

    Regards,
    Basilis

    Hi Basilis,

Sorry, but I don’t see any changes effective on the site…
I cleared cache, loaded the page in different browsers and on pc’s I hadn’t used before, but still don’t see but the ‘standard’ internet colors…
When I check that file in my FTP programm (FileZilla) I see CHMOD of that file is now at 600…
Shouldn’t all the folders be at 755 and files at 644?
How can it happen that after a NORMAL installation the CHMOD was changed?
What can I do to make this ‘happen’? :-)

    Thanks & regards,
    Monique

    Hi guys,

Can you please let me know what to do? I need to go on with this website soonest possible!

Like I said, this never happened before, it is a fresh install, so I really don’t know what went wrong…

When I de-activate Enfold and activate ie. Twenty Fifteen, everything looks as is should. I also installed the Propulsion theme and when I activate that, it also looks like it should be. There is only a problem with Enfold, so I assume that it really has something to do with Enfold! I installed the theme, de-installed it, installed it again, even from another Themeforest download, but nothing helps…………….

I really don’t know what to do anymore…!?

    Please…
    Monique

    Hi!

We are working on your issue please stick around and we will update the results here.

After testing your theme by de-activating the child theme and activating the main enfold theme we found that all options works as it should. please see the screenshot attached.

However the problem is zeroed down to the child theme.

Please follow the steps provided in the link below and create a new child theme and copy your child theme css block by block to know which code is causing conflict.

    http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/

Once you setup a new child theme everything should be good. If you have any questions please feel free to let us know about it.

    Regards,
    Vinay

Thank you Vinay for your reply.

I did like you suggested. Completely deleted the enfold-child from the server. Used the base files of the enfold-child following instructions on your website.

As soon as I activate Enfold Child in Appearance in WordPress, the styles are blocked. I haven’t done any customizations yet, I just and only activated the child theme.

So there must be a conflict somewhere as soon as the child theme (enfold-child) is activated but what is that conflict…? And how can it be solved…?

    Monique

    Hey!

FTP login does not work for me. Can you check please?
Does this issue happen when using a child theme with a default WordPress theme as well? please let us know about your results.

    Cheers!

    Hey Andy!

Checked ftp details, they should be ok. Another effort below.

I have created a child theme for twentyfifteen and that works. If you look at the site with twentyfifteen-child active you can see text in red and bigger font through CSS.

I really hope this can be solved soon. I had to postpone presenting the website to this (new) client which is not a good thing… :-( I am not looking forward to build the site in the ‘old-fashioned’ way by not using a child theme!

    Regards,
    Monique

Has anyone been able to look at this please?

I really need to get started now! I cannot postpone any longer. This Wednesday I need to present the site to my client and it needs to be build still completely… :-(

    Can you fix this?

    Regards,
    Monique

    !!! NOTE

I am working on the website now. I will try to do a full and new install and hopefully the problem will be solved…

I will let you know thereafter if the problem still exists.

    Hi guys,

First I deleted the database and all previous theme and child theme files. Then I did a fresh download for the theme (Themeforest) and child theme (your own website). Then installed WordPress and the fresh files for theme and child theme and all seems to work fine for now :-)

I hope I don’t run into the same issues again.

For now you can flag this topic as solved. Should I run into problems again, I will open a new thread.

Thanks & have a nice day!
