I just noticed that when I try to edit my Theme Option (Social Profiles) the “Savings didn’t work” error message. So, I deactivated all of my plugins (6 total) and activated them one at a time. When I active either the WP Migrate DB or the WP Realtime Sitemap plugins, that’s when I get the error message. However, I have the same plugins activate on at least one other of my Enfold themes without a problem.

    Any solutions here?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi laptophobo!

Maybe a simple restart of the browser and clearing of cache would help?

Hi Rikard, Thank you for the prompt reply. I did try again, this time on my IE browser (empty cache) and still no change.

    Hey!

Try enabling WP_DEBUG and check if you anything else than “Savings didn’t work”.

    Cheers!

    Hi!

Please try to increase the allocated memory to 128M: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
You can contact your service provider and they can do it for you.

    Cheers!

    Hi Yigit,

I went back to the hosting service provider and we increased the php.ini file sizes to 256m. Still, I’m getting that error message.

    Hi,

    1. Create a phpinfo.php file in the root of your install with this contents:

    <?php
    phpinfo();
    ?>

    2. Access it via browser – http://website.com/phpinfo.php
    3. Search for “memory_limit” and check if it’s really up to 256M

    Regards,
    Josue

    Hi!

Here’s something interesting, if you place the phpinfo.php inside /mocs/ you’ll see the memory limit is still 32M:

    Hey!

The only explanation is the memory limit still hasn’t change. We installed a plugin to show the current memory limit and it’s still set to 40MB. Please contact your hosting provider regarding the issue. You can find the info at the bottom of the dashboard:

Thank you for creating with WordPress. | Memory : 40.85 of 40

Ask your hosting provider for any imposed limitation on your server.

    Cheers!

I see the plugin you’ve added. This should help. I’ve bounced this back over to the hosting service people. Thanks for your help on this Ismael and Josue.

    We have the same problem…
Furthermore the problem persist with all plugins off and while the memory is set to 512mb.

Can we get some help ? :)

    Hi Josue,

I thought I had replied on this (but apparently hadn’t). The hosting service was (finally) able to up the php memory properly. Now all is good. Upping the php.ini file, and then placing the file in the correct location, did the trick.

    Hey!

Please check the file permission of the wp-content folder. Make sure it is writable or set to 755. Ask your hosting provider if you’re not sure how to change it. Is it OK if we deactivate the plugins temporarily while testing the site?

    Regards,
    Ismael

    #464264

The file permission have been set (apparently they were probably that way already).
Yes you can disable the plugins but do it quickly please :)
    Thanks !
