Hi there,
I’m copy-pasting content from word into a text block and I would like to use anchor points inside that text to use the buttons in the section above the textblock to scroll to that part of the text.
What I have encountered is that as soon as I paste some text from word and try to edit it, sometimes the text editor itself doesn’t work anymore after I save and re-open the textblock. The texteditor then seems to be empty (like a default textblock) , even though the text is still visible in the layout view, very strange!
I haven’t figured out what causes this behavior because sometimes I can still edit the text and sometimes this happens after I change something in the text. This last time I put an anchor in the text like this: <div id=”jump1″ class=”custom-anchor”>
But these anchors are also in other texts at other pages, and there they work fine and I can still access the text with the editor. If you check the link in the Private content section and try to open the textblock at the bottom of this page, you’ll see what i mean.
How can I fix this?

Thanks for reporting that serious bug to us, much appreciated. What you could try is to paste your text into a text editor which doesn’t format the text as much as Word does, for instance Notepad, and then paste it into your page or post.

Unfortunately the text I have to use on the website is a lot and it also has been formatted with italic parts in it etc. so this would be a lot of extra work if notepad would make it all disappear again…
Is this something that can’t be fixed?
I tried to copy the visible text on the frontend of the site (because it is still there, even though it can’t be edited) and paste it back into the editor, but then it still doesn’t open after saving….I have attached a link where you can see this code
Do you have an idea what characters are causing the problem so I can avoid it? I can’t see what’s wrong with the code…

March 10, 2016 at 7:35 am #596101Hi,
I don’t think so to be honest, the formatting is actually where the problem lies. Word doesn’t format text for web and that is likely why you are getting these errors. I think you will have to add the formatting manually.

I have found out yesterday doing some tests that copy-pasting the text from the frontend into the same text element didn’t work.
However, after I completely deleted the textblock in the backend, and added a FRESH one, it worked as normal. So this seems to be some kind of strange bug in the text element, but it’s good to know how I can solve it now ;)
