Hallo
The new update from Enfold 2.5 with the new videobackground in the color section doesn’t work. I wanted to insert a youtube video but I don’t see nothing appear on my website.
How can this be fixed?Greetz
butsieFebruary 11, 2014 at 10:42 pm #222407Hey butsie!
It does in fact work and you can watch this video as an example of it working:
If you can provide a link to your page where it isn’t and the video which you are trying to embed we can take a look at what might be going on.
Regards,
DevinFebruary 12, 2014 at 1:55 am #222469I’ve just tried a test with a youtube video too, nothing else on the page other than a colour section with a Youtube video background. Tried with multiple test videos, none seem to play.
February 12, 2014 at 3:40 am #222514Hey Guys.
I’m experiencing the same thing. So far I have found out that Youtube won’t work in Safari, and Vimeo won’t (always) work in Firefox.
The problem is mostly when using a youtube video – when the page is loaded, the video behaves like it plays the first sequence of the video (showing the first frame as a thumb image and not the videos original one), but it doesn’t play.

February 12, 2014 at 4:31 am #222544@Richard – I’m having no issues when viewing your site at the moment. Is this with a specific browser/OS combination?
@Synne – What version of Firefox, Safari and what is the page and vimeo link?February 12, 2014 at 4:48 am #222555The example I’m dealing with is in safari ver. 7.0.1 (OSX) – link to the page is: http://fremtidensform.staging.wpengine.com

I did excactly as you told in the video but it stil doesn’t work.
My website is http://www.seeitfeelit.nl It should appear above the footer, where the blue colorsection is.Grtz. butsie
February 12, 2014 at 1:12 pm #222739Safari 7.01 on Mac here too, though it doesn’t show the video on the iPad either.
I cannot see the video on either Synne or butsie’s sites linked above either, there’s definitely a problem somewhere.
February 12, 2014 at 1:13 pm #222740It’s a Safari issue, it *does* play in Chrome.
February 12, 2014 at 4:18 pm #222852My video doesn’t play in any browser. And I already updated Enfold to 2.5.1 but it stil doesn’t play.
February 12, 2014 at 4:31 pm #222857Hey!
This video shows as disabled embeding by request of the author: http://www.seeitfeelit.nl/
I just tested in Safari7.0.1 on my MBP and had no issues with:http://fremtidensform.staging.wpengine.com/ (hosted on WPengine) or http://www.blackbeltacademy.info/test/
I have no idea why it wouldn’t appear to work on your end. Can you try refreshing your local cache, trying in incognito/private browsing and make sure there are generally no other factors involved?
Best regards,
DevinFebruary 12, 2014 at 4:44 pm #222869Its not working for me either with a vimeo vid. In FF it does not auto start, in IE it auto starts but seems fast with no sound, on Safari it breaks the vid into blocks and on chrome it auto starts but again without sound.
February 12, 2014 at 4:49 pm #222871I’ve tried the following:
- Disabled all extensions
- Cleared browser cache
- restarted the browser
- Tried with/without private browsing enabled
No change. It still doesn’t work. I don’t think it’s down to the Mac setup as it doesn’t work on the iPad either, and obviously that’s a ‘clean’ browser with no extensions or plugins. I’ve tried on both iPad 1 with iOS5 and iPad Air with iOS7.
It *does* work in Chrome on the Mac, but not in Chrome on the iPad.
February 12, 2014 at 5:06 pm #222884Very strange. I’ve now checked it across all of my computers here and have had no issues with your sites video on my end. I can’t imagine why it would work for me and not you.
I’ve asked the other support crew to check on their end as well as Kriesi.
February 12, 2014 at 5:12 pm #222890For each response if you all could include a link to your page showing the video issue it would be very very helpful. I’d rather not have everyone in a separate topic so this way we can make sure we aren’t confusing anyones sites and trying to diagnose overlapping issues.
So just add the site url to the end of each response if you can each time you respond (just in this topic). Thank you :)
February 12, 2014 at 5:19 pm #222894@ anyone having issues on OSX, do you have Quicktime installed? How about VLC or any other video codecs?
February 12, 2014 at 6:16 pm #222931Hallo Devin
May I state that a don’t use OSX I’m on Windows 7 and I’m using Chrome as my browser.
I tried everything you just said, but nothing worked. I even treid TorBrowser but I only see is a black bar.
I also discovered that the styling editor doesn’t work.
It makes the changes on the backend but on the frontend nothing happens.Butsie @ http://www.seeitfeelit.nl
February 12, 2014 at 6:26 pm #222935@Butsie – I’m having no issues with your video embed now. Windows7, Chrome 32.
February 12, 2014 at 7:16 pm #222956I do have VLC installed and prior to Mavericks also had Perian, but as I mentioned already neither of those would affect the 2 iPads which have no capability for plugins or extensions..
February 12, 2014 at 7:42 pm #222967Hey Richard!
Unfortunately I cant reproduce the issue on my iMac or MBA as well. Works fine in Safari 7.1 for me as well as in Chrome and Firefox on both devices…
iOS is a different beast unfortunately which I am investigating but since it does no longer allow to autoplay videos without user interaction I will probably need to offer a backend option for what exactly should happen with videos there…
Best regards,

February 12, 2014 at 8:05 pm #222980Hey Butsie!
I was able to reproduce your problem in safari. mind posting the access data to your ftp server in a private reply here so I can try to upload a working patch. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue in the same way on my local installation, so not sure what is happening here…
Cheers!
KriesiFebruary 12, 2014 at 8:12 pm #222988February 12, 2014 at 8:23 pm #223001Hey,
OSX Mavericks, Safari 7.0.1
No problem with richards and synnes videos. But richards video is just one still frame ?
No chance to see the video on butsies site in the blue color section .. @butsie: nice pictures on your site!
Best regards
February 12, 2014 at 8:28 pm #223003On Chrome Version 31.0.1650.57
Richards single frame changed to a video, but butsies video is not to see
February 12, 2014 at 8:46 pm #223020Can you update your Chrome version to 32. Chrome>About Google chrome or go to chrome://chrome/ in the address bar and see if that helps.
February 12, 2014 at 9:00 pm #223032Hmm, I don’t know if this helps, but in Safari if I go to the Develop menu and change the user agent I get different results:
Set it to Chrome the video plays straight away.
Set it to Safari 7.0 (Mac), IE or firefox it loads a black screen with a play button in the middle (which does nothing), then if I refresh the page I get the first frame of the video shown but it doesn’t play..
February 12, 2014 at 9:13 pm #223040Hey,
Chrome Version 32.0.1700.107
The same with butsie´s blue color section: no video
richard´s and synne´s videos works fine on chrome..
@richard: thats exactly what I mean a few posts ago. On safari your video appear but it seems that it stays at the first frame
