Hi there.
Although I have the
<!– Global site tag (gtag.js) – Google Analytics –>
in the Google Analytics Tracking Code box
when i try to verify ownership at the search console I receive the following errorVerification failed for http://…The Google Analytics tracking code on your site looks malformed.
Any hints to solve this?

I also have the same issue. Never encountered this problem before, but this is the only site I have tried with Enfold Version 4.2.
It was working fine all set up with Enfold 4.1.2 and https://mywebsite.com
I upgraded to Enfold 4.2 and then changed the WP Address and Site Address to https://www.mywebsite.comNot sure if that helps any?
H(sorry, just to add to this. The verification error I get is when trying to connect Webmaster Tools by verifying through my Google Analytics account. So it may not even be Enfold, but I had no issues yesterday when doing the same with a V4.2.1 Enfold site)

November 1, 2017 at 9:55 am #871117Hi Heathcliffe,
I don’t think that is caused by the theme, I think it’s due to you adding SSL to the site. Though I’m not sure what the cause could be unfortunately.

November 1, 2017 at 3:07 pm #871268Hi clairemartindigital,
Would be great if you could at least give us something to work with.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 9, 2017 at 4:14 pm #874739I’ve done this previously with all my other sites, it just seems to be this one that won’t verify and I’m really stuck in trying to sort it out.
It does say the tracking code on the site looks “malformed” but I have copy / pasted it again into the Enfold area.H
November 10, 2017 at 10:11 am #875082Hi Heathcliffe,
Thanks for the feedback, but like you said, it might not even be due to the theme. If the code is added to the actual markup on the site, then our job is done basically. If you view the source code of the front end, can you see it added in the code?

RikardFebruary 13, 2019 at 5:40 pm #1066560Hi I need to verify my account and am getting the same problem “The Google Analytics tracking code on your site looks malformed”. I don’t understand this as Google analytics is working fine?
