We have been using the Events Countdown element on this page – https://apcusa.org/live-stream-player/ – and it’s no longer working. Any ideas?

Also, it was EXTREMELY difficult to find a place where I could start a topic. Having instructions on the main support page – https://kriesi.at/support/ – and/or on the Topics Started in the Account Overview would be very helpful.

    Hey mgyura,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Looks like you are using the Advance Layout Builder to create a custom layout for the events and it seems to be displaying as it should. Would you mind providing a screenshot of the issue? Please use imgur, savvyify or dropbox for the screenshot.

For new topics, you can follow the link below.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the screenshots.

We may need to access the site in order to check the issue further. Did you enable recurring events? Please note that the countdown timer will not work for recurring events.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

What do you mean by “enable recurring events”? Yes, recurring events exist, but not solely recurring events. The countdown feature isn’t working at all, even when no category is selected.

I can confirm that this is also not working on a dev site – https://devjustin.com/the-events-calendar-events-countdown-enfold-element-test/. I added one, non-recurring event, and the countdown is not displaying.

What do you need to access the site? Is there a particular email you’d like us to use?

    Hi,
Thanks for your patience, I checked our Church Demo and my demo page, which uses the Events Countdown element on the homepage and it seems to be working. Have you tried disabling plugins or custom functions to determine if there is a conflict?
Please include admin login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Mike

We have theme and plug-in conflict tested. Note that this is a multi-site, not a standalone site. We’ve been able to reproduce the issue on a separate, dev network.

Dev site test page isn’t displaying countdown – https://devjustin.com/the-events-calendar-events-countdown-enfold-element-test/
Event that should be counting down to – https://devjustin.com/event/another-countdown-test-event/

    Hi,
Thanks for your patience and for the login, I found that deactivating the The Events Calendar PRO upgrade plugin allows the countdown element to work.
I have asked the rest of the team for advice, Thanks for your patience.
Please leave this dev site available for the team to check.
Please also update to v5.4.1, This site is using v4.8.9

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1401323

    Thank you for the update!

    #1401399

    Hi,
Please update your Dev site to v5.4.1, it is using v4.8.9

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1401412

It took me a while to find that version – it wasn’t in the updates. I had to go to ThemeForest and download it directly. But that seemed to do the trick – thank you! https://devjustin.com/the-events-calendar-events-countdown-enfold-element-test/

    #1401413

Ah, but it still doesn’t work when TEC Pro is activated.

    #1401458

    Hi,
Thank you for your patience, yes the issue continues to be that with the The Events Calendar PRO activated the countdown element doesn’t show, even with the latest version (5.4.1) I have asked the team for advice on this, in the meanwhile please update your Dev site to the latest version (5.4.1). This will most likely be the first thing they ask you to do. Currently, your Dev site is still using v4.8.9

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1401467

I have already – it is running 5.4.1.

    #1406492

Is there an update on this? The countdown feature is still not working. Ex. https://apcusa.org/test-of-live-stream-player-page/

    Hi,
Thanks for your patience, I have asked for help from the team to assist you.

    Hi,
Please also enable WP Debug on the staging site.
To turn on WP_DEBUG, find the following line of code to your wp-config.php file:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', false );

Then, replace “false” with “true” and save the file.
Also enable debug logging, by adding the following line of code to your wp-config.php file below the above code:

    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);

Also include FTP access so we can see the debug.log error log, thank you.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hey Justin,

Can we also try network deactivating all active plugins on your staging site for testing purposes?

    Regards,
    Yigit

    #1406756

All plug-ins on the site and the network have been deactivated (except for The Events Calendar). At some point we may need to network activate some things as we use this multi-site network as a dev for other things, so please move as quickly as possible.

I don’t know if we can give you FTP access – working on that.

    #1406782

Debug on. FTP credentials below. Please let us know when you’re done so we can delete the account.

    #1407140

    Hi,
Thanks for the SFTP access and enabling the wp_debug, but I see the Events Calendar PRO is now network activated so we can’t deactivate it on the staging site.
I didn’t see anything in the debug that points to the error, except possibly this:
preventing possible attempt to enumerate users
Are you using a user permissions plugin? If so can you disable it to see if it is related to the error?
I will ask @Yigit to also take a look, Thank you for your patience

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1407141

We’ve network deactivated Events Calendar Pro for you.

No, we aren’t using a user permissions plugin, but feel free to activate/deactivate anything on the dev site that you need to.

    Justin
