Hi,
Currently I am running Enfold 4.2.2 on a website with WP 4.9.6 and I would like to update to the latest version 4.4.1. I tried to do it, but when I activate the theme something goes wrong. My website stop working (white page front end/back end) and I have to restore to the last backup. Can you please explain me which is the right procedure? I have to deactivate all the plugins first and then try to activate the theme? After that I have to turn on all the plugins again one buy one?
Best regards

Thanks for the update.
What are the errors? The theme introduced a new Performance panel on the latest version so you may need to disable the settings there after the update. You may also need to disable the cache and minify plugin if there’s any.

On one website is installed WordPress 4.9.6 & Enfold 4.22 I have installed these plugins:- bbPress
- Cookie Notice
- Download Manager
- Duplicate Posts
- Google XML Sitemaps
- Gravity forms
- Gravity Perks
- LiteSpeed Cache
- Logic LockDown
- Newsletters Tribulant
- Popups – WordPress Popup
- Reveal ID
- WPML Multilingual CMS
- WPML String Translation
- YOAST SEO
- WP-Optimize
- WP Mail Smtp
- Smush
On an another one, WordPress 4.3.16 & Enfold 4.3.2 with the same plugins as in the previous list and additional ones such as:
- Woocommerce
- Woocommerce Multilingual
- WPML Media
- WPML Multilingual CMS
- WPML String Translator
- WPML Translation Manager
Now, when I tried to change the theme (on both websites) the website has frozen (blank page both in the front and back end). I didn’t turn off the cache plugin though. Should I turn off all the plugin first?
Also in the second case what is better to do? Upgrade WordPress to the last version, upgrade plugins and switch them off and then try to activate the new theme?
I have never had problems upgrading Enfold till the version 4.9.
Let me know1
Regards
D.June 20, 2018 at 7:54 am #975132Hi Ismael,
I cannot disable the settings in the performance panel, because I cannot access to it. The front end and the back end are completely frozen with a white page. I had to restore the last available backup to put the website online again.

I will upload the new theme + the child theme first on the both websites. Then after the backup is done I will be back to you!Regards

Sure, it would be better if it’s just a stage site so we can disable plugins and try to isolate the issue without affecting your live site.

Can you connect on my computer with Team Viewer, if I import the two websites in my Mamp Pro? Unfortunately I cannot setup a stage server…Best regards
