Hi there,
I am using Enfold version 4.2 with WordPress 4.9.1
An issue I have with the Avia builder is that when I switch from the Advanced Layout Editor to the Default Editor, any content I have been working on simply disappears.
Here is the process.
I add content to a post or page in either editor. I give it a title and save the draft.
I preview it and it shows as a page or blog.
I switch to the Advanced Layout Editor and preview again.
It shows as a working page/blog.
I switch back to the default editor and there is no text.
I preview and there is nothing there.
What can I do to fix this?
Is this something I can avoid? I need to be able to switch between editors for a variety of reasons and I cannot work like this. Many thanks

You cannot use both to build a page, it’s either one or the other. You can use the Advanced Layout Builder shortocdes in the Default editor but they are added ina different way.
Best regards,
VictoriaDecember 13, 2017 at 4:25 pm #888419Hi Victoria,
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
We used to be able to switch between standard and advanced layout builder easily in the past and the content would not be affected.
It is only recently that when we began switching, the content would get distorted or go missing. Was there an update recently that changed something?
Regards

Can you create a test page and give us credential, we might need to have a closer look.
Best regards,
VictoriaDecember 13, 2017 at 5:07 pm #888455Hi Victoria,
I have created a test page called 012345 TESTING and added your credentials.
You can see how when you switch the text disappears. There also seem to be other glitches like text being distorted on certain occasions.
I am unable to replicate that issue right nowRegards

I was wondering if you had an update on this for me?
Many thanksDecember 14, 2017 at 4:42 am #888737Hi,
Sorry, but the current version of our theme and WordPress don`t allow this – you need to choose which one will use.
Best regards,
John TorvikDecember 14, 2017 at 10:45 am #888808Hi John/Victoria,
So this is something which happened in the latest updates?
Is there going to be a fix made for this?
Many thanks againDecember 15, 2017 at 5:53 am #889193Hello again,
Are you able to respond to my previous inquiry please?
Is this something which came from an update?
And was I able to do this in the past: ie. switch between builder and WordPress?
ThanksDecember 15, 2017 at 7:25 am #889208ello again,
Just to update you – I am able to go into SOME pages and switch between Default and Advanced.
So what you are saying John, is simply not true. For eg. I can switch between these pages Default and Advanced with no loss of content in default:
These are but two to show it is possible.
Have you logged into the site to get a better understanding of the issue, or is this just a general hypothesis?
I would really appreciate someone taking a deeper look at this –I repeat that this is NOT something which was a problem previously.
Now the site is buggy and I am unable to work as I need to, and switch between styles.
I cannot see what is causing the conflict on some and not on others.Thank you again!

December 16, 2017 at 5:56 pm #889604Hi Amajjika,
There seem to have been issues with php 7.1, can you try using php7.0 and let us know how that worked?
Thank you for the test page. I see that even the preview text does not appear.Best regards,
VictoriaDecember 17, 2017 at 5:59 am #889746Hi Victoria,
I have switched to PHP 7.0 and there is no change.
I tried that previously and even went to version 5.6 in case that was causing the issue.
Are there any particular PHP Options or Extensions that need to be selected in order for this to work?I will leave it on 7.0 for now and see if it makes a difference for you.
Thanks againJanuary 3, 2018 at 1:57 am #892665Hi,
Thank you for the update. You can’t switch between the two editors by default. I’m not sure how it worked for you before but it’s not supposed to. Did you use the default editor first? Switching from the default editor to ALB will not generate correct shortcodes unless you’re using the theme’s shortcode wand. Using the ALB first then switching back to the default editor usually works because the shortcodes are already created but it’s still not recommended.
Best regards,
