For some reason suddenly today, when I try to edit a previously-published page, previously filled text blocks are blank when I try to edit them.
The text is still there when I first go to edit the post, and the text is still displayed on the published post. However, when I open a text block to edit the block, the text is absent.
I was running 4.5.2, so I updated to 4.5.4 but that didn’t help. I then updated WordPress from 5.0.3 to 5.1, but no change.
What do you think?
Thanks as always for the help–you guys (and gals) are the best.
March 3, 2019 at 11:03 pm #1074064UPDATE — It seems that this problem only exists when using Safari. Works fine on Chrome.
Of note, on Safari, the text block window is currently slightly different than it was before, while the original version is still shown on Chrome. What’s coming up now on Safari is the original design of the text block (though with any previously written text absent), but now also with the Custom Class entry bar on the bottom of the text block, as opposed to under the Colors tab where it used to be.
Not sure what the deal is, though it looks like I’ll be using Chrome to edit posts & pages.
March 4, 2019 at 6:57 am #1074180Hi,
Thanks for the login details and update, I wanted to check if you are using the Classic Editor in the theme options but the account is not admin so I couldn’t. If you are using the Block Editor then please try to change that to the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 6, 2019 at 12:29 am #1075202Hi Rikard,
I am using the Classic Editor. Works fine in Chrome, but not at all in Safari. Both are latest versions.
I just changed the account to admin, so you can check in.
Thanks so much!
March 7, 2019 at 6:04 am #1075766Hi,
I just checked in both Chrome and Safari and I get the same results, both are working fine on my end. Please try to clear the cache from Safari and restart it to see if that helps.
Best regards,

March 8, 2019 at 3:45 am #1076202Thanks, Rikard. Clearing the cache worked. I wonder what the issue was? Alas, all good now, so I suppose it doesn’t matter.
Thanks again,
