Hi there,
For some reason when I try clicking on the “Edit Element” feature in the Avia Layout Builder nothing happens. When I open the Developer Console in Firefox, the following error message appears when I try to click on Edit Element:TypeError: $.AviaModal is not a constructor[Learn More] avia-builder.js:278:17

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,

RickMarch 30, 2019 at 5:28 pm #1084900Hi Rick,
Thanks for giving us admin access.
There seems to be a lot of plugins but I’m hesitant to try to disable it since this is your live site.
Can you try to temporarily disable all plugins and check if it fixes the issue? if yes, enable the plugins one by one to know which one is causing the issue.
If that doesn’t help, please create a staging site so we can try debug and isolate issues without worrying about messing the live site.
Here’s a tutorial on how to create it: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/Best regards,
NikkoMarch 30, 2019 at 5:36 pm #1084901Hi Nikko,
I just turned them all off – except for Classic Editor. And the “Edit Element” function doesn’t display. It’s as though somehow popups are blocked or perhaps the Javascript is restricted from loading. I’m not a developer, but I’m wondering if it has something to do with a particular setting in the htaccss file? Everything works on the staging version we have the site – but it’s on another hosting platform. So perhaps I need to figure out how to create a staging site under this domain/hosting? Maybe install it a subdirectory “staging”?
But you’re welcome to disable the plugins for a few minutes on the live site if that will help in troubleshooting.
Thanks very much for your help Nikko!
Rick

Yes placing it in subdirectory should help since we would likely need to have the same server settings/setup.
Classic Editor isn’t needed anymore since in Enfold > Theme Options > Select Your Editor > Use WP Classic Editor already fixes the gutenberg issue.
I have tried also deactivating the plugins temporarily and it still doesn’t work, maybe the difference between your staging site and your live site will help us determine faster what’s causing the issue.Best regards,
