    Hi
I am making changes to a template I built and use on all pages (Testimonial) but it only updates on the page I make the original change on – how do I get it to update across the site?

    Hey Sam,

I assume you’re taking about advanced layout builder templates. As soon as you use a template wordpress saves it for each page/post separately and there’s no “central place” to edit it for all pages/posts.

However you could use the “Page Content” element (can be found in the Content Elements tab) to add the content of any entry to other entries. The user could then change the content of this entry and all other pages/entries will display the changes immediately. However note this element has limitations and you can’t combine all elements (i.e. fullwidth elements might not work with columns, etc.).

    Best regards,
    Dude

Ah thanks – that’s a shame, I thought “template” meant it would change site wide. I’ll have a look at Page Content.

Could you point me at anything showing how to create or edit a Page Content element? What I am trying to do right now is make the default time between slides on the Page Content Element – Testimonial Slider longer

    Hi,

    1) You first need to create a page which contains the elements/content you want to include/embed on other pages. Save this page.

    2) Then you need to edit the other pages (or posts, portfolio items, etc.) which should display the same content. Add the “Page Content” element to these pages, click on the element and in the popup select the page you created in step 1 from the dropdown (Sreenshot: http://www.clipular.com/posts/6576725597880320?k=GO1uER7vLcN06wrahwWasLZTHkw – here I selected the page “Impressum”). Save these pages – when you view them you’ll notice Enfold replaces the “Page Content” element with the content from the page you selected from the dropdown.

    Best regards,
    Dude
