Can you tell me if this theme contains a page builder (ie is your custom Envato Template Builder a page builder tool)? I am concerned about conflict with plugins, bloat and what will happen if a client decides to change themes in the future?

Enfold uses it’s native Advanced Layout Builder. You can check how it works here – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/intro-to-the-advanced-layout-editor/ but please not that currently ALB has many more elements and more advanced features such as live preview window.
Since there are thousands of plugins, we cannot guarantee that it would work with any plugin however most of the popular plugins work fine with Enfold.
You can implement ALB to the theme you switch. Unfortunately, currently ALB is not available as a standalone plugin however it is on Kriesi’s to-do list but regarding that we are currently not able to provide an ETA.
