Today, I added a description to one of our team members at http://192.185.4.114/~castweb/about/leaders/elders/. After adding the description for Steve French, I noticed that there were now two blank circles showing up when hovering over his picture. I removed the single social media / link icon from his entry and saved the changes. When I refreshed the page, I was surprised that another of our team members – George Skidmore – had vanished. I restored the page to an earlier version and repeated the process of deleting the link in Steve’s entry, only to see George disappear again. I did not have this problem previously. Any thoughts?
I’m running WP 3.9.1 and Enfold 2.7.1 with a child theme.
Thanks,

May 15, 2014 at 7:54 pm #265479More Info: George is in the same layout column as Steve. When I added a short description to “Kevin Harrison,” it makes “Gary Clawson” disappear. They are in the same column, with Gary coming after Kevin. “Duane Denlinger,” who is also in that column, but third in line, was not affected. Also, though I have not added social / link icons to any of the team members, when I add a description, I get two blank icons by default.
May 16, 2014 at 2:49 am #265660Hi!
Thank you for using the theme!
On the team member’s description, did you happen to use an apostrophe symbol? Please use the html code entity of the symbol. Please refer to this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_XML_and_HTML_character_entity_references
Cheers!

Thank you for the response. I did not use any apostrophes in the team member’s description, but I don’t understand why that would be a problem, anyway. If I can’t use and apostrophe in a text box, there’s something wrong that needs to be fixed.
I am still unable to explain what’s going on. I created a new page and added exactly the same content as the old page. The new page works the way it is supposed to. The old page continues to delete members if I add a description to another member.

May 16, 2014 at 2:06 pm #265809I have made the old version of the page private to keep it around for problem solving. It can now be found at http://192.185.4.114/~castweb/about/leaders/eldersold/
May 19, 2014 at 3:39 am #266622Hi!
Thank you for the update.
The link you provided leads me to a 404 page. Yes, you’re correct about that, apostrophes should not trigger any issues but it sure does with the team member description. If you can provide us with the login details and a working test page, that would be great. Please set it as a private reply.
Cheers!

The url ( http://192.185.4.114/~castweb/about/leaders/eldersold/ ) gives me a 404 error. I’ll try to reproduce the issue on my local test servers and to debug the code. Please activate the debug mode of the template builder ( http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/ ) and post the template builder data from the debug field here. You can use the “Code” button or backticks ` to mark your text as code.
Cheers!

May 27, 2014 at 12:46 pm #270484Hi!
I tried using the above on my end but didn’t get any issues. Re-going over the whole thread I’m thinking that maybe there was an error in the original page with a hidden character or just partially broken shortcode nesting which was fixed when the new page was used.
Either way if its still happening seeing it live would be the next step and if its not then all is well.
Regards,
Devin -
