After Updating to Enfold 4.8 the tab sections are empty in the backend. The content in the tabs is still visible on the website.
But when trying to edit the content in the backend, the tabs are empty in the visual AND the text editor.
All the other elements work ok so far.

    Hey Littleplace,

The content comes back when the parent theme is active, so something in your child theme is causing this problem. Please try to remove all your customisations, then add them back one by one to see when the problems starts occurring. Also try to copy the original file of header.php from the parent to your child, then add your customisations back in the new file.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Thank you for looking into the problem. However that did not help. We did a complete re-install of the Theme as well of the child-theme.
Turns out the problem is not from the funtions.php or header.php. It comes from the custom elements functionality. We love that new function and we already us it.

However, as soon as the custom element function is set to: enable for “editor and admins” the problem with the tabs occurs.
When the custom element functionality is disables we can edit the tabs.

Any help on that? I assume this needs a fix in the custom element module?

note: the only reason why the parent theme was working properly was because custom elements was not activated in the parent theme.

    Hi,

Thank you for using Enfold and the feedback to the new feature custom elements.

I opened a few pages in backend (CET enabled) but could not find one with a tab and opening a modal popup on a page worked.

Can you please provide me a link to a page where I can see the problem. If you add the link in Private Content it is only visible to moderators.

If it is possible please enable debug mode by adding the code provided in this link to your functions.php file which can be accessed from Appearance > Editor

This lets you view the shortcode for all the page elements.

    Best regards,
    Günter
