Hi!
I have two (main) pages of my website that use tabs and they are VERY slow to load. I did some tests to be sure tabs were the problem and it is confirmed. I added a product grid inside each of the three tabs I have, is that why it is very slow? Do you have a solution please ?
Thanks a lot for your help

You can see a full run down of what is being loaded and for how long on the link in private. Almost 6 seconds is spent just waiting for the server to respond, this is something you need to bring up with your hosting provider.
If you should need help speeding your site up then I can recommend contacting a service like SteadyWP.

Thanks a lot for your help
I’m not sure this is a problem with the server, I say this because I tested my homepage with the same test and it takes only 2-3 seconds to load, even though its size is larger (1,8 MB for the tab page against 2,5 MB for the homepage) and it has many layersliders etc… Maybe I am wrong?
What I can tell you is that pages that have a tab section are the slowest ones on my website for sure, and I don’t understand why, and it would be great if I could find what is the problem because the rest of the website seems pretty fast to me! :)
Thank you !
September 5, 2017 at 7:22 am #847981Hi,
I’m sorry but I can’t see anything that would indicate that this is a problems with the tabs element specifically. Maybe you could try removing the tabs and run tests again to make sure that element is responsible or not?
Best regards,

I had already made the test to be sure, but I just did it again and I can confirm you that when I remove the tab element, the page loads very quickly. Tabs are clearly slowing down the page for some reason.
I created two test pages so you can see again for yourself (please see private link):
-1 page with tabs and a gallery
-1 page with only the galleryThank you,
September 5, 2017 at 10:45 am #848028Hi again,
I did some more testing, and I noticed that if remove 2 of the 3 tabs that I have, the page loads a bit faster (see speed test in private link).
I created a third test page so you can see the same page when there is only one tab.September 6, 2017 at 4:11 pm #848703Hi!
I have some more information to give you to interpret my issue better.
I tested the page again I it seems that tabs themselves are not the problem, but the combination of tabs + product grids inside.
I say this because I tried many combinations :
-Page with 3 empty tabs : OK
-Page with 3 empty tabs + product grids aside : OK
-Page with 1 tab + product grid inside the tab : Not so good
-Page with 2 tabs + 2 products grids inside : Not good, slow to loadDo you think you have a solution for this issue please? Do you want me to test something else so you have more elements to help me maybe ?
Thanks for your answer,
September 7, 2017 at 9:28 pm #849246Hi,
That is normal.
You are loading some Ajax calls and WordPress query.
it is normal that it is slow.
But – we can not help to optimize.
The query cache also depends on multiple things. We would suggest to hire someone who will be able to help you further.

OK thanks for your answer, then it is too bad that I can’t combine tab sections and product grids (I can’t keep the page like this, it’s too slow)
Thanks anyway!
