Hi all,
I have a specific issue. I while ago I building a large client website with Enfold 2.0. However, I edited the original theme event renaming the theme folder to the client name. This has made updating the theme not possible. I want to change this.
I have seen that you can go from edited Enfold to child theme with exporting your theme options and then importing them. Does this process carry over all the saved page templates and built pages already active in the website?
Here is exactly what I’m thinking:
+ The original Enfold theme has been edited too much (folder name changed too) so I want to leave it alone.
+ I want to install the new Enfold and Enfold Child.
+ I want to activate the new Enfold Child.
+ I want to import the exported theme options from the old theme.
+ Then tweak any minor issues.Because I changed the folder name of the original Enfold 2.0, do I run the risk that the export will not work?
Since I’m leaving the original Enfold 2.0 and then installing the new one and child, will this work?
Help me out here, because this is a large high traffic site and I want to make sure I understand every detail before starting the process.
Thanks,

I would suggest creating a localhost site to build and import your new site, once you worked out all of your migration issues and it is running to your liking, you could then upload to your production site. As you pointed out, you are working with a high traffic site that needs to be migrated carefully.
There have been a lot of changes and improvements to Enfold since v2, and it’s hard to say how your mods will perform.
Best regards,

I just wonder about the theme option export. Does that export the page building data? When you switch to a child theme, how do the pages built using the page builder stay intact?
Thanks
