    You can, just use this (remove the spaces):

    < s u p > & r e g ; < / s u p >

    thanks a lot for your lightning fast reply!
    Unfortunately your suggested command < s u p > & r e g ; < / s u p > would not work.
    I also tried < s u p > ® < / s u p >.
    The “®” still appears as tall as before and is not superscript.
    :-(

    You haven’t removed all spaces.
    I have to add spaces otherwise it will convert in the thread.
