    I would like to use a subheading (custom field) in Enfold that is shown instead of the post’s category name.

    How to adjust this in postslider.php?

    Hey!

    Sorry for the late reply!

    Please edit postslider.php file and find

    $meta_out .= $cats;

    and replace $cats variable to echo your custom field.

    If that does not help, can you please post a link to your page and a screenshot showing the changes you would like to make?
