    Hi, i cant get rid of the Spam emails sent from contact form.
    “(sent by contact form at ….”
    have been all over the forum and tried all suggested,
    – WordPress up to date
    – Enfold latest version latest version! (4.6.3.1)
    – enabled google services Recaptcha v3
    – installed Secury security
    – Installed Wordfence
    – installed Block Bad Queries (BBQ)

    no contact 7 installed, only Wpforms light.

    Please help/

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    – Enfold latest version latest version! (4.6.3.1)

    The latest version of the theme is actually v4.7.3, so you have to update the installation. You might have to do it manually via FTP if the update notification is not displaying in the theme updates panel.

    Are you using the WPForms plugin as well? Please provide a screenshot of the spam mail or post its content in private field so that we can inspect it.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    The latest version doesn’t really have any dedicated patch for the contact form or the spam protection, but you should update the theme to the latest version anyway. Do you have a screenshot of the spam mail?

    Thank you for the info.

    Is the spam coming from the same source (location, IP or email address)? You can black list the IP address or prevent any traffic from a particular location — in this case from Russia — in the Wordfence panel. Please check the documentation below.

    No, the sources are varied.
    i tried different options including country block. nothings helps
    where can i find the code that the email is sent from ? is this coming from the theme shortcode ?
    what wordpress functions.php filter can i use it to validate the content ?

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    The send or mail function for the default contact form is located in the framework > php > class-form-generator.php file. You can use the avf_form_send filter to stop or continue the execution of the form based on certain conditions. This is the same filter used in the Google reCAPTCHA option.
