I received this message from my hosting company:
the following file on your webspace has been sending a large amount of e-mails to invalid addresses: ~/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/static/codemirror/addon/admin.php
IMPORTANT: In case of such a blacklisting, you would no longer be able to deliver any of your e-mails. Our security mechanisms have therefore interrupted your mailing.
We have set the file permissions for ~/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/static/codemirror/addon/admin.php to ‘200’. The file is not accessible on the Internet and does not carry out any functions.
This website does not utilize ANY mail functions. No newsletter or anything. It is just an informational website with a contact form. Will the changed file permissions affect anything with the layer slider I am currently using?
Please advise
Hi BiggieDave!
That’s odd. The file that error is pointing to should not exist in the theme files. Try completely deleting Enfold from your WordPress theme directory and then download + upload a fresh copy from themeforest.
I would also consider changing your passwords and contact your hosting provider for help in increasing your site security in case someone added it without you knowing.
