I just launched a new site yesterday and I’m getting an insane amount of spam from a contact form that’s not even on the website. I’ve blanked out the specifics in [square brackets]
Example email:
New Message (sent by contact form at [website])
Name: 5907ee7b81ce7
E-Mail: [email address]@gmail.comI’ve checked my site 3 times and I can’t find a contact form with that subject line and the only visible form goes to a different email address. This is going to my WordPress admin address only, which isn’t on the site anywhere that I can see.

VictoriaMay 3, 2017 at 12:36 am #786803Hi Victoria,
Thanks for that, I’ve got an anti-spam plugin installed, but it’s not stopping them. I also don’t believe in using recapture as it creates an unnecessary barrier to communication.
My concern is that there is something I can’t see revealing my admin email address on the site.
Cheers,
Steve.

May 3, 2017 at 7:13 am #786935Hi Steve,
I can see that you are using the Contact Form element on the Contact Us page, could you at least try to activate the Contact Form Captcha option to see if it has any affect on the problem?
Best regards,
RikardMay 3, 2017 at 8:40 am #786968Thanks Rikard, but it’s not that contact form, it goes to a different email address.
The spam goes to my email address, which isn’t on the site anywhere that I can see.
I’ll check all the published pages again.

BasilisMay 4, 2017 at 12:36 am #787489I don’t have any other pages with a contact form.
The email address being spammed is not anywhere except in the admin settings.
May 4, 2017 at 10:51 pm #788109Hi,
That is something related with your server been blacklisted.
There are not a lot of stuff we can do from our side for that issue we are afraid.Best regards,
BasilisMay 4, 2017 at 11:43 pm #788124The server is blacklisted?
Where did you find that information?
May 6, 2017 at 8:49 pm #788919Hi,
You can hire someone to help you find more informations on how to un-spam things or how to work things around for a solution.
Best regards,
BasilisMay 7, 2017 at 8:49 am #789060Hi Basilis,
You advised it was blacklisted, so doesn’t that mean you checked something to find that out? I was hoping you could tell me where you found it so I can check myself.
I’ve already contacted my hosting company (WPEngine) who scanned the site and only found my email address in the admin settings.
This means I’ve either got a compromised plugin, which I’m sure WPEngine would have found, there’s a flaw in the Enfold theme which I don’t think is likely either or other people would be reporting the same issue, or there’s something else.
May 11, 2017 at 4:15 pm #791709Hi,
The blacklist – when it goes to spam, can be from Gmail or any other software.
You do not have your email to be used anywhere else, to be not know exactly about that.Best regards,
