    Dear kriesi-team,

I would like to do soft hyphenation for some long words (not automatically) on this site http://www.christinbacher.at/.

I read that the code for Soft hyphens should work good, but i get ugly results with strange glyphs in Chrome (Version 29.0.1547.62) e.g. visible on the page “Profil”.
In Fireworks and Safari it looks well.

How can i make soft hyphenation work in Chrome?

I look forward to your response,

    Christin

    Hey nini_bacher!

I’m sorry but can you please post a screenshot of the issue on Chrome?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi!

It might be a problem with the font. Did you try to select another google font? Afaik not all fonts support all characters/glyphs and the strange symbol seems to be a placeholder character.

    Hi Peter,

    thank you for your reply.

The web font on this page counts 235 characters and was tasted in Chrome, so I think it is not font related.

I used the soft hyphenation with “” wordpress and non-google-webfonts before on this website http://www.bissmann.at/, and it works well. So I thought of asking, if it is theme related. And if you have an idea how to display it correctly in Chrome?

    Your help is much appreciated!

    Best,
    Christin

Sorry, the tag was not displayed, i here it is again :

    Hi!

I don’t think it’s theme related. You can also choose a standard font or another google font and then you shouldn’t get this issue with our theme too.

    Peter

often you can use instead :
    &#173 and behind the 173 a semicolon

    try it

i had now the same problem because i want some headings to break on certain points but on special Headings the does not work

sorry the code above is translated allthough it is set in to code tags so there is that stupid instruction
