Hi there, can anyone advise why my social icons have just vanished from my site – header & footer – plus page placement with the widget.

Superb, does the job instantly and when developers clear the bug all I need to do is to delete quick CSS… I hope all issues were like this.

Editing a WP core file is not a good idea in my opinion. Bugs are normally not because of the WordPress core, but connected with a theme and/or plugins from third parties. If WP 5.3.2 comes out and you update it, you will run into the same issue with Enfold again.
Solving it with CSS is a better approach and I would rather choose that until Kriesi publishes a new release of their theme.

Save a copy of your old file should you encounter an upload error.
